Bryn Celyn Reviews

Hollie
We had a lovely weeks stay at Bryn Celen with 8 of us. The cottage was so well supplied and the owners very helpful with any queries we had. There was plenty to do in the area just a short drive away.
We were a group of 10 adults and a dog visiting in early January. The house has a great layout, was warm ,welcoming, and the owner had kindly left the Christmas tree up and a bag of wood for the fire. The surrounding scenery is lovely, the house is very near Offa's dyke. Plenty of maps and walk books, games etc..
We have had the perfect family Christmas, from the moment that we arrived and met John , until we left it was brilliant. The lovely home had a massive kitchen with all the utensils, facilities you need to cook the Christmas lunch and for us all to gather around and celebrate around a large dining table. The lounges were ideal to relax and watch TV , the beds were very comfortable and gave us all a good night's sleep. Overall this Christmas has given all our family one of the best Christmases ever , thank you.
Alison
Lovely, big house in a gorgeous village. We really enjoyed the stay and the owner could not have been more helpful.
Richard
Lovely property that is obviously well cared for. Everything you could need is provided and John is an exceptional host. The beds are the comfiest weve ever experienced on a holiday and you will feel well rested after a break here. We will definitely be back when we are next in the area and Ive already recommended to a friend.
Tracey
Bryn Celyn was a lovely big house, well equiped for our family break. The beds were comfortable and warm. Kitchen facilities were excellent. Unfortunately Storm Amy prevented us from using the well maintained garden and facilities. John popped in to say hello and to check the storm hadn't created any problems for us, which was thoughtful. The house is well situated for visiting the surrounding area. We had a great few days catching up with each other, lots of fun and laughter. Would you pass on our apologies to the owner and cleaners as we hadn't read the instructions regarding the laundry!!!. I didn't read the email you sent while we were still away as I assumed it was a request for a review.
This is a very quirky house, which we like and often find in our holiday cottages. Its spacious, clean, has everything you need and a fab base for shropshire and wales. The village itself is lovely and very friendly with a small shop and local pub.
The accommodation was ideal for our large family gathering with ample space in the diningkitchen and larger of the 2 lounges. The snug provided a quieter space for those who sought that. It had a well equipped kitchen and the bedrooms were comfortable. The garden was an attractive added bonus. The area provided a variety of places to visit in Shropshire and nearby Wales. The owners were very responsive, when we contacted them but also respected our privacy. All in all, we would highly recommend Bryn Celyn.
A lovely village and great to have a plenty of kitchen and living room space for a group. The house felt a little tired and lacking in facilities for up to 10 people but the garden was beautiful.
Nice property but very tired could do with some TLC
The cottage was lovely, clean and comfortable, it felt like a home from home. The beds and pillows were also very comfortable which is always a bonus when staying away. We were made to feel very welcome and the area very pretty and close to Oswestry which had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend this as a place to stay.
Bryn Celyn is a really lovely property with everything you could need for a happy time! The beds are all comfortable and the bedrooms are spacious. We were lucky to be able to sit outside. The chairs were great and as it was a college reunion we loved sitting there catching up on our news! The kitchen has every utensil and appliance and it was so good to be able to sit around the table and keep the chat going! All in a perfect weekend in Trefonen! Also super walks from the door! Maps and books were so useful too!
Absolutely ideal for our base to explore the roads on motorbikes. Everything we could possibly need was at our hands. John and his wife were perfect hosts and readily available. The village pub and the villagers welcomed us with open arms, fantastic. Perfect stay for the 5 of us.
Lovely stay lovely owners we will be back
We had a wonderful time staying Bryn Celyn. ..fully equipped kitchen, cleanliness was exceptional and the beds were really comfortable. We would definitely recommend a visit....
Elizabeth
We had a wonderful extended family holiday at Bryn Celyn cottage. It was comfortable, well equipped and the owners were very friendly and helpful when required. I would thoroughly recommend staying here. The countryside around is beautiful, unspoilt with plenty of things to do for all ages.
Great cottage for a gettogether. We stayed as a group of two adult families, plenty of space for adults and young adults to split up in the evening and play games....or use the TVs! Lovely bedrooms, plenty of equipment in the kitchen...esp fridgefreezer space...and more than enough cutlerycrockery for 10 people. Lovely location.. Thankyou for a great long weekend
Lovely property, used for 3 generations of a family to go to a big family gathering in Meifod. Would use again
The property was a great size and location for our family gettogether of 6 adults and a dog the property is for more guests and was plenty large enough. Good, comfortable and warm, with good facilities, enough parking and a convenient location for days out. Thanks to the owners, we had a lovely stay here.
Sheila
Lovely home with great kitchen supplies ie glasses and crockery etc. And great enclosed garden safe for dogs and children. Heating a bit erratic but that was probably user error on our part. Only niggle would be TV's not great, WiFi not strong enough to operate lounge TV and there seemed to be a jungle of cables behind snug one. Didn't try bedroom one as baby slept in there. Safety warnings should be made for dramatic drop In floor levels near top of stairs and our tall family had massive issue with light in snug being quite sharp and low. We had a lovely time but felt that a few tweeks could make the house fantastic as there is lots of space.
Fantastic weekend spent in this lovely cosy cottage. Well organised with plenty of cupsglasses for us all. We visited Lake Vrwny and the local pub it was nice to see it busy. Didn't try the food but they were very welcoming. Grabbed a Chinese takeaway just 5min drive away. Only very minor point was that there is only Netflix in the lounge but terrestrial TV in the snug so we all had to squeeze in there to watch Strictly!!! Haha. Owner very friendly and close by if needed. Definitely recommend! Thank you
Very well equipped with plenty of room to relax. Beds very comfortable. Kitchen well stocked with cooking utensils, plenty of crockery, mugs and glasses.
Rachel
We had a wonderful time staying in this property it was very comfortable with plenty of space for the 10 of us. Good facilities and a beautiful garden. The owners left cakes and flowers on arrival which was a lovely touch and personally welcomed us. Their dogs were super cute and we thoroughly enjoyed playing with them in the garden. Would highly recommend this property and we would definitely go back!
Fabulous, everything we needed, owner John next door extremely helpful but respected our privacy too. Would definitely return & recommend.

Christopher
We enjoyed our stay very much. The owners were lovely, very kind & helpful. They live next door, so are always available. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Great location and only a few minutes from the town & Wales. Quiet, peaceful, safe.
Robert
Great property to share a family break. Plenty of room for all 8 of us and the dog. All necessary appliances provided. Hosts on hand to help out with any questions. Good location giving easy access to Wales and a number of local attractions. Also plenty of great walks from the doorstep including Offa's Dyke.
Keith David
The only problem was that there was a lack of, even, warm water in the main bathroom. It would also have been helpful if there had been easilyaccessed instructions for certain items. Otherwise very good indeed.
