Gerry's Place Reviews

Lovely well equipped property in a beautiful location with good access to a range of walks, The veranda provided a lovely place to relax especially as it was extremely hot weather during our stay however the heavy duvet no alternative was was not conducive to a good nights sleep. There was no welcome pack beyond tea, coffee and sugar which is always a disappointment. As the nearest shop is in Church Stretton, a pint of milk would not have gone amiss. There were a lot of dog hairs in evidence on the bedding and floor. The single track road is also quite daunting as passing places were limited. Despite the negatives we really enjoyed our stay at Gerrys Place.
Loved the studio. A few things were a bit dirty on arrival, with marked bedding and the shaving mirror in the bathroom not cleaned on the reverse side. Great that they provide washingup liquid, dishwasher tablets, soap, scourers, etc. The kitchen has very good appliances, and there was always plenty of hot water. Our only main issue was the narrow farm road leading up to the property, which is raised in the middle and could be difficult for some vehicles. Loved our stay and the views were amazing.
4th time staying at Garry's Place. Lovely location and comfortable property.I would strongly recommend a stay here. We really enjoyed walking nearby and 2 friendly pubs 15 minutes walk away Lovely place too if you take your dog. Will be back again soon.
Kathryn
We had a lovely stay at Gerrys Place, great location for walking and a couple of pubs a short walk from the property. The accommodation was lovely and had everything we needed but gave so much more with all the wildlife attracted to the owners garden. We heard Owls and saw Woodpeckers, rabbits and many garden birds and admired the views.
Rebecca
Lovely property with beautiful views, a short walk from Little Stretton. Well equipped with owner just next door in case we needed anything extra. Bed was large but it may be time for the summer duvet as it did get warm during the night nice weather in the day time during our stay. Would recommend to anyone visiting Shropshire
Rodney
Just as described. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, just really lovely. Very rural so besides the sheep there is no noise. Thoroughly enjoyed, thank you.
Alison
Great little property for our weekend break. The listing was accurate. The property is well equipped and made a great base for exploring.
A lovely comfortable, clean, warm and well equipped accommodation. The dual aspect gave great views in 2 directions of the beautiful Shropshire scenery. Two pubs in the village served lovely food and were easy to walk to. We didnt see the owner on arrival but Sarah was able to help with the tv when requested. Our only negative comment would be the constant barking of the owners dogs shut in a small pen and kennel in the garden whilst the household were out at work, it was rather irritating.
Lisa-marie
Lovely and clean. Host very welcoming and friendly.
David William
Even though everything is in a single open plan room there is more than adequate space with a wellequipped kitchen area. Great views, especially of the local kites, and only a 15 minute walk from Little Stretton with two excellent pubs.
Excellent, clean and well stocked home set in beautiful surroundings. We had one request and the owner responded immediately
Therese
The stairs were a problem for me and the dogs next door were barking alot early morning etc
A wonderful stay at Gerrys Place. Great quiet rural location. Lovely views and very comfortable accommodation. Church Stretton close by with a few nice cafs and shops. 2 nice pubs in Little Stretton both would be walkable in fine weather.
Stephen
We had a lovely time in the snug loft style accomadation all the things we needed were there it was a short 10minute walk from 2 cracking pubs in the main St through little stretton and as it was up a small lane it was peaceful and the surrounding hills and landscape was very Yes a nice place for a couple . We met the nearby owner the next morning on arriving and she was helpful and was there to wish us goodbye and a safe trip home yes we were very happy
Lovely peaceful stay. Mattress was a bit lumpy but still slept well. Really clean with everything I needed. Scruffy and I had a lovely few days. Thank you.
A warm and welcoming place to stay with great views and walks from the door in all directions. Good facilities and 2 good pubs 10 minutes walk down the road. We especially recommend the Raglath.
Catherine
It was great. Definitely recommend and would rebook.
We really enjoyed our stay here, it was so peaceful, secure garden for when we let our dog out. Everything we needed in the accommodation, tastefully decorated, very comfy big bed, wifi, beautiful views. We will be back.
Elizabeth
A lovely property. Very clean and comfortable and well equipped. Great parking. We had a lovely stay and would definitely come again.
I really enjoyed my stay at Gerrys Place. It was a bright, clean property offering everything I needed. I particularly appreciated the outlook across fields and hills which was stunning. I enjoyed a week full of walking and exploring the area and much appreciated the food in the two excellent pubs in Little Stretton. There is still so much to see and I hope to return.
Lovely place with a really comfortable bed and perfect views of the Shropshire hills. Nothing not to like.
We throughly enjoyed our stay at Gerrys Place, the property was perfect and the area lovely. We will definitely be coming back.
Stay was excellent. The cottage was a perfect space for two people and a dog and had everything we needed. The only thing I would say is that the road to and from the cottage is very muddy and without paths, so getting to and from places without a car was a bit tough. It was walkable but us and the dog got filthy in the process as it was a very rainy weekend and as there are no paths, you have to stand in mud to get out of the way of cars, but this isnt the owners issue. My only issue with the property is that the dining table is collapsible, which made it a little rocky, so we had to be cautious when using it, but that was all. Would stay again!
Elizabeth
Found the proximity of the little dog outside in all weathers in a far too tiny enclosure most distressing. There was the facility to use a washing machine but were only informed on our last day by the cleaner. Found the running of the machine late at night disturbed our sleep and kept us awake due to it being below our bed.
Excellent stay at a perfect property. The property has everything you need and was ideal for a couple to escape from reality in the peace and quiet of the idyllic surroundings. Property was more spacious than it appears on the photos and was extremely comfortable. The use of the washing machine and dryer in the garage below was a massive help during a rather wet week in the hills. Views from the property were incredible and the owner was lovely.
Lovely stay in Gerrys Place, very clean everything we needed with lovely views. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely place overall immaculate, just a couple of small niggles, although the two chairs are virtually new,not very comfortable, also adjacent building work being undertaken we were not made aware of any nearby building work. Overall perfect holiday cottage with megacomfortable bed,we left one day early due to storm damage in my home village.
Very comfortable. Just a 0.6 mile walk to the village so no more than 10 mins by foot. The walk itself is enjoyable due to the surroundings. Place itself was well fitted with everything you need. Highly recommended. Thanks for a great stay. Dave and Buddy.
The property was well equipped with everything I needed for a very enjoyable stay. Ideal to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside or visit local towns and villages. The Green Dragon pub in the village was very friendly and welcoming.
We loved our short stay here and it was fab that we could bring Harvey our black lab too. Such a comfy and cosy space with a couple of great pubs nearby too. Highly recommend!!!
Trevor
Lovely setting, tranquil, peaceful, fantastic stay. Very comfortable night sleep.
Michael
We really enjoyed our stay at Gerrys place . Would recommend it too all our friends
Nice modern, clean and spacious accommodation that's in a quiet location but not far away from the villages of Little Stretton and Church Stretton. Only niggle was barking dogs on a couple of the mornings, which should have been kept indoors at least until later in the morning.
Another first rate experience at Gerry's Place located in a most picturesque, peaceful setting with plenty of parking Spotlessly clean, everything required in place. Would stay at Gerry's again
Although accommodation is just a single room apart from the shower and toilet room, this is more than adequate for two people and a dog. Kitchen facilities and appliances are better than we have had at many conventional selfcatering cottages and the room was clean and wellpresented when we arrived. Best of all are the views, whilst the skylights in the angled roof, combined with large windows at either end, ensure that the room is never in danger of becoming dismal. We certainly plan to return.
A fantastic holiday home situated in a beautiful, rural location. The annex was sparkling clean with everything you could think of supplied. Access via a key safe was easy and if there was any issues the owner was available nearby although we had no need at all We would definitely use Gerry's Place again
Sharon
A very clean, tidy and well appointed annexe with lovely views and situated in a quiet area. Ample crockery and cutlery for two people! Shower worked lovely and the place was always warm and cosy when we got back from a long walk. The garden was well enclosed and safe for our little dog to run around in and the owner, Sarah, was lovely and helpful. The only small gripe was we wished the two armchairs had higher backs as you cannot rest your head and relax! But that is a personal opinion. Would highly recommend this property for a base to go walking from and visiting around Shropshire as it had all the amenities you would need and was left alone to enjoy your holiday!
Property is ideal location for walkers, nice and clean plus a huge bed. My only suggestion is it would of been nice to have more plates and cups save putting dish washer on.
