The Little Dingle Reviews

Christine
We stayed in The Little Dingle this time last year and the only faults we found were the lack of mirrors and the narrowness of getting into the shower. This year things have seemed to have changed. First the Wifi. practically non existent, in fact the password had changed but it was only after about nearly an hour of fruitless trying to log on did we find that the password had changed and the changes were written on a scrap of paper in the file, not that it made any difference, onlu one of us managed to stay logged on for any length of time. Still no mirrors of any size and that only in the bathroom above the sink, oh and a tiny makeupshaving mirror. There were temp fluctuations in the showers. Poor tv reception. A bit more cutlery and crockery would be a bonus and the bread board definitely needs replacing as it is badly scored by the knife and split. Clearer instructions as to what can and can't be recycled would help as would a bin for the recycling in the kitchen. Oh and we stored our cases under the bed and found out how much dust was lurking there. Having said all that I still like the cottage and if these few things were attended to it would be great.
Whoever owns this cottage has obviously lost interest in it. It is up for sale and in a poor state of repair. Peeling paint outside and an unkempt garden not the beautiful one in the description give a poor impression straight away. The fact it is right next to the very busy A49 means it is constantly noisy and this was kept fairly well hidden in the description too. The cottage is surface clean with lots of insect poo in the window frames yuk and the outside window ledges are covered in muck, there are also so many flies we had to keep the windows closed for the whole week. Apart from the tiny living room only really big enough for two the room sizes were quite generous and it was nice that both the bedrooms are en suite. Bedding and towels were lovely and clean and of good quality. We did enjoy our holiday but would not rebook this cottage
Disappointed to find information contained in their Visitor Folder was not up to date in respect of WIFi connection and their current contact phone number. Also the dishwasher info leaflet was for a completely different model!. There was no washing machine as advertised Sykes details fortunately did have the correct phone number, but it only went to answer phone. Not ideal if the query was urgent. Otherwise the property was well designed as holiday accommodation with very good quality appliances, crockery, utensils and bedding. The ensuite facilities in both bedrooms was a bonus. The lack of a garden the gravel area at the back of the property with all weather seating was not very enticing! Despite all the above we really enjoyed our stay for a week in this property.
David Crozier Fri, Jun 6, 734 PM 3 days ago to Sykes I am back at home early as our stay was awful. On the evening of arrival last Saturday, none of the 4 TVs were functioning. We had our lap tops to use but the WiFi wasn't working. The following day we got two TVs to operate one in the living room that went in and out of signal and in the kitchen it was stuck on BBC 1. I had internet to check and bills to pay. Fortunately my friend lives in Shrewsbury and embarrassed I use his WiFi otherwise I would have been 1200 in debt. All week the internet and TVs were useless so we left early. David Crozier

The cottage was very comfortable with everything we needed, the only thing wrong was the flat roof was making a creakingthumping noise whilst cooling down after a day's sun. Also the WiFi was very intermittent because it was being supplied through the larger property. All in all we had a lovely relaxing week.
Lovely little bungalow , clean and well equipped. Could do with some mirrors on the bedroom walls I couldnt see in the bathroom one it was too high , some people had problems with temp in the shower ,but my husband found that if you used a flannel over the tap he was able to adjust it to the right temp , nice little garden to sit in , train line passing ,and on a busy road but didnt bother me and I was in the cottage most of the time ,easy access to surrounding area Shrewsbury, church Stetton ,nice pub down the road 10 mins walk but only a footpath for half the distance, and unlit so take a torch
Lovely stay enjoyed our time comfortable and clean only thing that needs ... Lovely stay enjoyed our time comfortable and clean only thing that needs attention is the slab out the back needs to be sorted as it tips on you stand on it maybe a trip hazard but I will definitely be rebooking 100
We enjoyed our stay ! The main problem was that neither bathroom showers were working properly. We could not get one of them to work. The other one was extremely hot and we could not turn the heat down to a reasonable level. We would certainly come again if the showers were working
Stayed twice now in this cottage central for visiting Shropshire and surrounding area everything alright except for all wall lights not working especially in the shower rooms.

We found the property well equipped and roomy however the decoration was a little tired. I think we would have liked to have met our host at least once during our stay.other properties we have stayed at have had a pack with things to do places to eat etc, just lastly the garden area needed a rethink maybe cut back the trees and bushes to make the most of the afternoon sunshine.
We loved out stay at Little Dingle, it was warm, clean and comfortable. There were just a couple of things on the downside the lack of large mirrors, the mirrors in the cottage comprised of one in each of the bathrooms in which I could only see my head I'm 5' 2 , there was a shaving make up mirror in the bedrooms but larger mirrors could easily be fixed to the large cupboard doors in both bedrooms. Also the shower doorways are very narrow, anyone of a larger build would find it difficult to get in or out. Apart from that I would recommend Little Dingle.

The muffins, tea and milk were much appreciated on arrival. Sadly the busy A49 on one side, the railway on the other and wood yard next door were not mentioned at the time of booking which made this not the most peaceful place we have ever stayed. The beds were lovely and comfortable. Although the living room and kitchen were tiny, the kitchen was well equipped for our needs. The bathrooms were ok, however the shower in the double room despite being mentioned in numerous reviews still remains dangerously hot! A couple of bulbs could also do with being replaced in the over mirror lights. Parking is plentiful. However, the garden is not ideal for a young familyall gravel and uneven paving but ok for sitting out in the sunshine. Have stayed in a number of holiday cottages before and felt the local information, leaflets, etc was rather limited here. Lovely setting and comfortable let. Only negative was no hoover, full length mirror and that between the two buildings being let there were not enough bins to accommodate the number of people and their rubbish.
The property was very clean and comfortable. The bed we used was comfortable and the bedding crisp and fresh. The kitchen is well equipped and provided all we needed. As with previous comments, issues with the shower but that apart we have no adverse comments at all and would happily use the property again.
We had a good time at the little Dingle. Warm and cosy. Two bathrooms were a great asset. Two good size bedrooms. Lounge a bit small for four people. But overall a nice cottage. Cleaning lady was a great help for us. Nothing too much trouble. We wanted to book again but found out it was up for sale. If only I could afford it .
On the whole, The Little Dingle is in a good location for exploring this area of Shropshire and generally had everything we needed to selfcater. We found it difficult to get through the small opening into the shower and it is very difficult to turn the tap to make the water cooler in one of the showers. We found the beds too firm, but this is probably a personal preference.

Fantastic bungalow really comfortable and beds were very good my only issue would be the cleanliness of the utensils and skirting boards etc sink plugs not working and bulbs not replaced it's a shame really we might have rented this place again but the welcome pack was lovely
Darren
Very grateful for the milk tea and muffins on arrival. Some salt and pepper in the cupboard would be good and some kitchen and bathroom cleaner. Shower in bedroom off the kitchen despite following instructions water very hot and difficult to adjust never mastered it. We enjoyed our stay thank you and i think renting both properties would be superb for a large family gathering.
Sheila
Very comfortable cottage. Everything we needed was there.
The Little Dingle provided a very comfortable holiday home in a beautiful part of the country, near to Church Stretton. It was very convenient to be able to park right by the front door. We enjoyed evening meals in two local pubs in Little Stretton and All Stretton and visited Much Wenlock which is a lovely old town and the Long Mynd which was very impressive. As we only wanted a short break we only stayed for three nights, but hope to come again for longer.

Sent txt to Dan while there he came back immediately really helpful The property is really lovely and comfortable Very clean and everything you need for your stay Only suggestion would be a lamplight on the Dingle signage if that was at all possible as in winter dark nights it's quite difficult to see the turn in to get to the property Thanks Dan and Charlotte for a lovely rental
Difficult to control temperature on the showers. Not much room in the kitchen diner. Couldn't sit at the table if someone wanted to get to the cooker or cupboards. Very clean and tidy we enjoyed our stay.
The cottage was was very well equipped with high quality goods and excellent bedding. The bedrooms were also top quality. The only thing needed is a proper good sized mirror above the dressing table instead of just a small makeup mirror. Also mirror in bathroom to high not everybody is tall. Entrance to the property is difficult as it is not easy to see and its off the very fast and busy A49. Didnt see the owners of the cottage, would have been nice to have a hello as they lived next door. Back step needs cementing as it wobbles and showers while being very good are extremely slippery! On the whole the cottage was excellent and well located and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Very nice accommodation. Two good sized bedrooms. Shower in one bedroom was excellent we didn't try the other one. Nice small area to sit out at the back with sunshade umbrella to go with the table. Cottage is on a site with a larger property also a holiday let. Very large area for parking. Church Stretton is a very nice little town Berry's cafe is excellent as is the Indian restaurant. We also visited Ludlow very interesting castle and Much Wenlock bustling but relaxed. Excellent walks in the area.
Had a lovely stay in the little dingle. Managed to see most of Shropshire which is beautiful. Unfortunately there was a snail on the roof of the bedroom when we arrived and had been there for a long time. Also the main shower was far too hot and we could not get the temp down. Finally there was no warning that the train line ran past the bottom of the garden! But we did enjoy our stay and the cottage facilities were lovely.
Lovely clean cottage. However the front room and kitchen are both small and basic. Disappointed to find the cottage was not in the village but at the side of the busy A49 with a very noisy timber mill next door. Unable to go for walks without using the car first as there is no footpath. Also trains run behind the garden.
Overall pleased with the property. Unfortunately the design means the lounge & kitchendiner are very small especially if its 4 adults or 2 2 teenagers. Also its regrettable that there is no footpath for approx 400m alongside the dangerous A49 down to the village busstop & pub.
The property was clean and tidy ,well decorated and comfortable with good facilities . The location was easy to find with good main road access to all locations in a popular tourist area .
Barbara
We had a great stay, and found the cottage beautifully clean and wellequipped.

A wonderful little cottage that suited our needs completely. The owner came and introduced herself which was a lovely touch. Highly recommended and would certainly book it again.

Very clean & tidy well presented, everything is working order, the downside easy to miss as your desciption does not match the reality, sat navgps, sent to wrong place needs more to advertise it is there. But everything else very good, quiet, peaceful & great meals at the pub a few hundred yards away.
A very comfortable cottage, lovely and warm. We enjoyed sitting in the garden watching the birds. Perfect for walks from the door.
The Dingle had good revues and fully met our expectations. Charlotte and her husband were very pleasant and helpful when we spoke to them. The Dingle is very comfortable and well presented, would definitely book again.
Little Dingle was ideally located to see surrounding Shropshire Countryside. It was very well appointed, very clean and most comfortable. Charlotte was very welcoming and helpful. Will definitely return sometime. Thank you for a lovely week.
A beautiful cottage, very clean and comfortable and Charlotte made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend. Thankyou for a lovely stay.
