Difficult to find the carpark in the dark. I tried to phone but no response, so fortunately found some friendly locals who helped. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable with great dog walks and I loved my week there.
Lovely little cottage in a great location, just a short and scenic route into town. The cottage has everything we needed apart from a washing machine, and was warm and comfortable. Make sure you have a walk along the old railway line, and don't miss brunch in the courtyard cafe and a pint at the coracle microbrewery everyone is really lovely!
Lovely cottage, very well restored. Loved how you decorated. Especially the woodwork in bathroombedroom. Definitely like to stay again Thank you
Really lovely and cozy cottage and was exactly as described. Was a great base from which to get out and explore Shropshire. If there was anyway to get a bit more light downstairs, I would welcome that. Same with the bathroom too. Bed was really comfy. Bathroom has been done to a high standard but the water pressure in the shower wasn't great which was a shame. Overall would recommend this place for a few nights away
The cottages was perfect in so many ways. Really clean, nicely decorated, the location was perfect for our purposes, and a lot had been made of a tight space. Unfortunately, two things made our stay less enjoyable than we had hoped, and both could have been so easily rectified. The traffic noise from the main road through Coalbrookdale was also an issue, but we should maybe have looked rather more carefully at the location. Firstly, the lighting in the lounge is very poor. Three lowpower bulbs, two of which only produced a faint glimmer, meant that anything other than watching the TV in the evening was almost out of the question. Secondly, there was no proper dining table, just a narrow table along one wall with space for two people to sit sidebyside staring at the wall. The atmosphere was very much like sitting in a bus station late at night waiting for a National Express coach. A goodsized dining table could very easily have been accommodated with just a little bit of thought. Why fill the space with a twoseater settee, an armchair big enough for two people, plus a large pouffetype thing? And why have a wood burner which is not connected to a flue and therefore unuseable, or a sizeable glass cabinet which houses three flower vases? A real shame. Our stay would have been so much nicer with somewhere to sit and eat and better lighting.

I really enjoyed my stay at this beautiful cottage. Very quirky design, compact and bejeau! Which I loved! Super comfy bed, I slept the best I've done in ages! Good size shower and comfortable living room. Kitchen suitably stocked of utensils, I would suggest a change of knives set as they struggled a bit, but I had no problem cooking here and made use of every available inch! I would like to bring to your attention that the main cooker isn't fitted in and is a bit loose, as is the kitchen tap. I would also suggest a basic supply if tea if coffee for guests, as most places have that.and perhaps a few cleaning products which helps us keep on top of the place. I really enjoyed by 4 nights here, super base for what I needed it for as worked in the area during my stay. Ideally located, lots of walks nearby, I would not hesitate returning here to this cottage again!

The stairs are an issue, it is difficult to get 2 feet on one step. The kitchen tap is wobbly. The bed is difficult to get in and out of. But it is a nice property, especially if you are short and able bodied. The local pub is great, only serving drinks, but very welcoming.
Very impressed with our stay at No. 4. A lovely little cottage in a small village close to the Ironbridge Gorge museums. Facilities were great and the bathroom was newly renovated. The property was clean. We struggled initially to find the parking despite clear instructions from the owner. A travel cot was listed as being available but this wasnt and the issue was swiftly dealt with by both the owner and Sykes Cottages so I really appreciate this.
No 4 was a gorgeous cottage and we loved our stay. I had done a chat with Nicola before booking and requested a travel cot and highchair. However these weren't in the cottage. Fortunately my daughter had brought a travel cot just in case, as you can imagine if we has relied on rhe booking it would have been a disaster with a 17 month old. It would have also been so much easier at mealtimes with a highchair. Another slight issue was the fact that there was absolutely no phone signal so were concerned at how a Dr or hospital could have been contacted if it was needed
Probably the tiniest cottage we have stayed in but beautifully refurbished, spotlessly clean, comfortable furnishings, well equipped kitchen and brilliant shower. We took camping chairs to sit out as it was very warm but found the road a little too noisy although it didn't disturb indoors. No instructions for rubbish or contact from the owner. Easy, safe walk into lovely Ironbridge and no problem parking near the cottage. Would stay again if price was right.

Stairs and door height ought to be noted as they could be a problem for some people. Kitchen well equipped, nice walk in shower. Comfortable bed.
Lovely little cottage well equipped & beautifully presented. Very comfortable bed. It is however very small with some low ceilings & the stairs are very narrow & steep not suitable for everyone. Unfortunately we had a few issues with the hot water despite it being a combi boiler system whilst the water was hot enough in the sinks it was only lukewarm in the powerful shower. Someone was sent out to sort it but it didnt make a noticeable difference. It was a real shame as everything else was of such a high standard.
Super little cottage, owner has thoughtfully provided so much. Cottage very clean, bed comfortable, everywhere tastefully furnished. Very impressed with Coalbrookdale, great walks and sights of interest. Very friendly local pub. The Furnace cafe worth a visit.
The cottage is lovely and quaint. It was clean and tidy and in a great location. However, one of the main reasons for us booking it was the listed Wood Burner which turned out not to be working when we arrived the listing had been edited to say this was not ready until 2024 after we had booked. The water heating was also too temperamental, having to try and get the tap in the perfect position to get any hot water at all this to me is a basic that should be sorted. Finally, the wifi is shared between several cottages which makes it largely unusable with a poor connection and constant buffering. This is also unacceptable given the price paid for the stay. All issues were mentioned to the owners, but it didnt seem they were too keen on resolving them to be honest, maybe given the time of year that we visited.
Lovely little cozy cottage, well situated for the sights and amenities of the Ironbridge area, would definitely recommend.
Deborah
We were changed to number 6 which was very similar due to the wifi not working at number 4 but the property owner was very good and informed us before we arrived and asked if we would like to move to number 6. The property was beautifully done and was very well equipped. Would definitely go again if we were staying in Coalbrookdale.
