Callow Fold Reviews

A wonderful 'cabin in the hills'. Very peaceful place with amazing views, and where you can hear birds and owls, and watch sheep and hares in the fields. Well equipped kitchen, heating etc. Owner is available nearby. Lovely pool.
Gabriel
Absolutely lovely retreat in cosy cottage and stunning country side
Our second time going and loved it again so peaceful and views are stunning and the cabin was lovely and cosy. Derek is a very friendly person and always on hand if you need anything. Thank you again for a great Christmas week away we will definitely be back
We had a lovely stay at the cottage, myself, my husband and family plus dog. Derek the owner met us and showed us around which was really helpful and he was around if you needed him for anything
Richard
Derek the host very welcoming with a lovely friendly dog, weather was glorious so managed a swim in the pool. The cottage is in the middle of the hill so bring your supplies, some good walks and views superb. Highly recommend this for a total getaway and relax
A magical and enchanting location. The cottage is very comfortable but the views are outstanding. Well equipped kitchen, hot water on demand, great shower unit, delightful decked area to enjoy sunshine and views. But you are in the middle of such spectacular scenery! Peace and beauty. Plus the owner's garden and swimming pool. What's not to like?
The lodge was very cosy and the kitchen had everything we needed. The bedrooms were a good size, but the living roomdining area was a little cramped for a family with two older teenagers. The surrounding area was lovely with local walks and nice pubs within a short drive away. Some amazing views from the lodge, which were a very welcome break from the city!
Outstanding views and comfortable property with all the essentials you need. Very helpful and friendly owner on site, but still feels very private. Barney the dog is a great bonus!
We really enjoyed our stay here in August. The cabin was lovely, clean and very well maintained. The views around are stunning and its a great place to get away and relax in a secluded area. The lock on the front door broke later in the evening and there was someone out to fix it within the hour for us which was really appreciated. The pool and grounds were lovely and wed definitely return!
Beautiful little holiday lodge. Me an my family had a brilliant week and the kids loved the pool and off course Barney the dog. The place is so clean an the bedding spotless and the beds are so comfy we all sleep perfectly. Beautiful scenery. Derek the owner is lovely and very helpful and is lovely with the kids to. the only thing I would say is it's probably not suitable for anyone not good on their feet or wheelchair users as the lodge is on a hill and the ground around the property is very lumpy an bumpy and access to the pool takes you across uneven grassy ground slightly uphill then down a grass slope so unfortunately we couldn't take my 83 year old nan down to the pool side so she could watch the kids. But other then that I would 100 recommend this place the local area is lovely and ludlow is a beautiful place to walk around and find food. We will definitely be back 1010
Real gem, beautiful setting, friendly owner and dog ! . Perfect to get away from it all and be in calm and natural beauty
We really enjoyed our week at Callow Fold. The cosy, offgrid cabin is set on a remote, wooded hillside, with sweeping views of rolling farmland. The owner, Derek could not have been more helpful, especially on the last day when our car broke down and he picked us up from Church Stretton!
Wd highly recommend an excellent property maintained to high standards, in an amazing setting with amazing views. A real getawayfromitall yet with easy rail access to Shrewsbury and Ludlow. And an excellent owner and Border Collie, Barney both great company
Gillian
We had a lovely weekend at Callow Fold. The views from the property were stunning. Well equipped kitchen. Three bedrooms which were perfect for our group of four one couple and two friends. Great place for touring and taking beautiful walks around the Shropshire countryside. Have to say I fell in love with owners collie. All in all a great place for a weekend break.
We had a wonderfully relaxing stay here which is just what my mom and I were looking for. The setting is beautiful and the owner is lovely. The bonus was his very friendly dog, who appeared quietly outside whenever we did. He gave us unlimited minutes of vigorous exercise, by offering his toy for us to try and wrestle off him the dog, not the owner We will definitely be back to this lovely place for some peace and quiet and beauty
Careen
Nice spacious bedrooms beautiful outlook remote as we wanted .
We had a lovely Christmas week here lovely cottage and there's lots to explore. Will definitely go back
Very good place for a country stay holiday
Claire

What a wonderful find , a beautiful lodge in a beautiful setting . This property is the perfect sanctuary to get away from it all, perfect for walks from the front door and amazing views. Whilst in a secluded setting it is located close to the lovely town of Ludlow , and its castle. Lots of other places to explore and visit . The property itself is equipped with everything you need , we could have moved in permanently
Nathan
Amazing location, stunning views with great walking nearby. The cabin was fantastic with good facilities. The owner was really friendly and welcoming.
We had an absolutely lovely time at Callow Fold. It's superbly situated to access everything that Shropshire has to offer whilst still being off the beaten track. Great for walks with our dog, too.
Beautiful cabin, stunning views, adequate kitchen space, clean fresh bedding, out door washing line and pegs, lovely outdoor area for the dog to run and potter, Derek the owner and Jody I think her name was the cleaner, lovely people. ..will definitely return. Washing machine broke on our stay and was replaced within 24 hours the washing line was a must have and we were grateful to have use of it. Loo seat was on its last hinges, but I'm sure Derek will have sorted that already. We did miss a basic kettle though a good quality water heater was provided. Kitchen cupboards full of goodies pots pans bags potatoes bowls etc though a bit chaotic and shoved in
Elizabeth
We really enjoyed our trip to Callow Fold. Thanks Derek and Barney
Wonderful place to stay with stunning views and walks. Derek our host was the perfect balance of being friendly and helpful but giving us space. Bonnie our dog had a great time too and got on well with Dereks dog Barny. Many thanks for a wonderful week! Paul and Mary

This place is heaven! We loved the beautiful wooden cottage with stunning views perfect for a complete relaxation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owner welcomed us and was very accommodating. The kids felt in love with his lovely, friendly dog. We will definitely come back again.
Beautiful setting. Fantastic views. Comfortable and cosy wooden Scandinavia style pine accommodation. Deryk welcomed us with fresh flowers and wine on the table and fresh semi skimmed in the fridge. No traffic noise just wild birds. Lovely walks nearby.
Extremely enjoyable, peaceful stay off the beaten track and yet no too far out. Great walks up the hill. Fantastic views and very helpful landlord.

We really enjoyed our time at Callow Fold. It was fairly easy to locate the property in the dark as you can't miss the 'Callow Cottage' sign by the hedges. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. The gardens and views of the hills are stunning. Derek was very welcoming and we loved playing with the wonderful border collie, Barney. We wish we could have stayed longer!
A lovely cabin with panoramic views of the Shropshire countryside.
We loved our stay in this amazing, well equipped cottage. The views from the cottage are fantastic and the surroundings are peaceful and quiet. There are several walks from the cottage and many sights close by.
