We stayed here for Halloween weekend as a party of 9. The house is incredible, and has been renovated to a very high standard making it feel like home, we loved all the little details acknowledging the history of the working farm. The views are beautiful and layout is perfect for lots of people, and felt like we had a lot of space. Weve just returned from a lovely weekend at the Shepherds Cottage. The accommodation was perfect for our group of parents and children, the enclosed play area was just perfect for them, and the hot tub and games room was perfect for us! We had great communication with the owners during our stay, and our request to have stair gates put in before our arrival was fulfilled. Nothing was too much trouble for them, staying at Castellmoch Barns really felt like a home from home and we had such a lovely time. Well definitely be returning, thank you so much again!

Fantastic week with family of 11 at Shepherds cottage. Very nice spacious, large bedrooms with huge comfy beds. Large dining kitchen area and living room. The games room which connect two of the cottages was a bonus. Of the three barns it is the one with the best views across rolling hills which can be seen from all living areas, bedrooms and of course garden and hot tub. Had one issue with hot water one night and the owner came out at ten at night to rectify. Lovely chap. Would definitely return and highly recommended.

Lots of positive feedback for this owner and property but BEWARE this is when things go well. But when things go badly wrong its a different story. We arrived on Friday 61224. Followed on the Saturday by storm Darragh. Electric off all weekend. No support offered by owner other than 12 tealight candles and a few logs which caused a lot of smoke. All weekend freezing, no light, no hot water, so couldnt shower etc . no heat or cooking facilities. Couldnt leave due to advice not to travel. No signal or WiFi so could only contact owner who lived nearby. Electric came back on Monday night but the smokecarbon monoxide alarm woke us at 2am the house was full of fumes which was very concerning, thankfully no children or old people in the property, we had to switch off the boiler and open all the doors so freezing again. We felt very unsafe. When we asked about any sort of refund we were told no as the storm was not Huws fault not given even the price for the cups of tea we couldnt make or for any of the electric or gas we couldnt use.or the genuine distress when the alarms were going off for over half an hour. .and as for Sykeshand washing all around our advice is book with someone else as we will be doing in future.

Bwthyn Y Bugail was outstanding not just for the facilities it offered but also for the amazing pastoral views from the property. The photos in the listing capture a pleasant view but the reality is so much more. The main living areas were clean, the beds comfortable and an ensuite in every bedroom alleviated the usual difficulties which occur when 3 families gather together in one place. Thank you to all for a great staycation in a beautiful area of Wales.

Absolutely amazing holiday for all, we was a group of family and our kids. Kids with additional needs and on spectrum. My son will not go anywhere and when we arrived he was so with drawn and I was worried made wrong choice however few hours in he was in games room playing darts the barn is massive he had his space to relax and the other kids absolutely loved it. The adults made the most out of the nights there the hot tub was amazing Huw was great he swung by checked the filters and if we needed anything there was a small blip with the oven and was sorted straight away. The cottage is lovely waking up to the sheep is lovely. The drive into the town was lovely and locals are lovely and welcoming. I would recommend this place to anyone honestly best holiday weve had. X

We booked this for a 80th birthday, so three generations of the family, and the property did not disappoint. It is very spacious large rooms and the ensuite bathrooms were a big bonus. Views from the patio are lovely and the dark sky meant we could stargaze in the evening. Would definitely recommend this property to any large group.

Lovely cottage ideal for a large family. Plenty of space for the whole family inside, outside and in the huge jacuzzi. Great play areas for the grandchildren and the views from the cottage were beautiful. We were in daily contact with Huw, owner who was very helpful throughout our stay with places to visit and any maintenance required. The fresh hens eggs for sale each day was a bonus. We had a Tesco delivery the day after we arrived which was ideal.

It was clean but not spotless, hoover is useless and carpets need a good clean, darent look under the sofa, tops of wardrobes dusty, this makes it a 4 not 5. Would still recommend it though, there was 11 of us and we all loved it and sad to leave.

Absolutely beautiful barn and location. We had a really great weekend spent here. The barn has everything you could wish for and was spotlessly clean. The surrounding area is stunning with lots of really beautiful walks. It is remote but thats exactly what we wanted. We will be returning.

We had an absolutely fabulous stay. The house was perfect for us, with all the bathrooms and bedrooms, 11 of us from age 3 to 85. Everything we needed was there I.e kitchen utensils etc. robes were a fab touch and unexpected. Hot tub was great looking out to those fabulous views as was waking up in the morning to them. The internal courtyard park was amazing for our 3 year old as was the games room for everyone else. Only disappointment was that the dart board had seen better days and as the floor had no Matt down we did damage our darts and had to stop playing, which was a shame. If you like national trust places, there are 3 near by. Powys castle was just beautiful. We couldnt find any walks from the house itself and had to drive everywhere, so if youre a big walker youd need to drive somewhere first. After saying that we did no beforehand that. The waterfall near by is a must see and drive to Barmouth for the seaside also. All in all a very nice holiday in a beautiful setting for all the family. Thank you

Beautiful place! Not the most ideal location as was quite a drive to get to anywhere even a shop! But scenery was truly beautiful! Cleaners need to clean above there eyeline! Cobwebs all over the place dusty skirting boards even the washing machine door had thick dust! Pillows could do with being renewed they are old and not very comfy Robes well what an fab touch they were!! internet was shocking, there is no phone signal! If want to be off grid this is the place to go! We couldnt get much access and the tv said no signal a lot of the time! Huw was extremely helpful, such a lovely guy! We would definitely consider coming back one day!

A wonderful property for a large family gathering, with children and adults appreciating all that the cottage had to offer. Of note are the superb views, the spacious rooms, the ensuite shower rooms, the hot tub, Huws welcome and the efficiency with which he dealt with our power problem. The only could do better is that cleaning under the sofas has been overlooked we were searching for a missing toy part, not checking! And a. set of kitchen scales would be a useful addition to an otherwise fully equipped kitchen in this fabulous holiday home.

No expense appears to have been spared in creating a luxurious holiday cottage. Agreed the weather was good which always enhances a break, but the fixtures and fittings throughout made this place outstanding.

The host was very accommodating any issues he was more than willing to help out and also gifted us some eggs from his farm. Would definitely recommended to friends and family.
