Manor Cottage Reviews

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this magical 15th Century cottage. We loved the welcome gift of prosecco and biscuits. It was cosy once we turned the heating up a bit, during a cold spell in March. The kitchen was mostly well equipped, although we struggled a bit making soup, as no vegetable peeler and only 2 small bowls 2 friends came for lunch. The dining table had very wobbly legs, so my husband fixed it. There was confusion over extra parking for visitors at the back somewhere.... and a couple called who couldn't find how to get to the holiday cottage next door. But overall it was like living in a fairytale and we'd be more than happy to come back.....
Loved the cottage, and in such a great location. 2 excellent pubs close by, bus stop across the road, and great walks from the front door. Cottage has every thing you need. Only thing to improve would be local maps together with some recommended walks, especially with dogs.
Our stay at Manor Cottage was an absolute joy from start to finish. It was warm, cosy and comfortable and a gorgeous character cottage that was lovely to come back to after a day's walking in the hills. Perfect location for accessing beautiful walks and we appreciated the attention to detail like a torch for popping out in the evening and electric blankets for cold nights. Nice treats waiting for us on arrival too. Many thanks!
Desmond
Lovely property with fabulous period features, clean, warm and cosy in a gorgeous little village with two friendly pubs very close at hand. Would definitely return and recommend but the only nitpick would be that the bathroom was really hot and the heating which were storage heaters were quite noisy day and night so hopefully that would be an easy fix. Great base for exploring this beautiful part of the country.
Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. Ideal for walkers. Two great pubs in easy walking distance, makes this a prefect holiday let.
Fabulous cottage, well maintained and scrupulously cleaned. I dont normally say this but Ill visit again. Location perfect and communication prompt.
Had a lovely stay here. The cottage was very attractive and tastefully decorated. It was in a good location, being just down the road from close Church Stretton where there were a good range of shops to explore. Spoilt for choice on scenic walks in the area to. The only negatives for us was the noisy downstairs radiator that constantly made noises so we had to turn it off at night. Also the bed was too soft for our liking but that's just personal taste. The parking was a bit confusing too as the email we received before our trip said we could park at the rear of the property but it turned it this wasn't true, so roadside parking is the only option. This wasn't a problem but it needs to be made clear there is only one option for parking.
Comfortable house, good bed and bathroom. Easy to find and a good location for local pubs, walks etc. Spotlessly clean. Would come back again.
Malcolm
The cottage was stunning with exposed beams and a feeling of history combined with modern facilities. Public transport outside the door if required and two friendly pubs with excellent food and drink a couple of minutes walk away.
Kathryn
We really enjoyed our stay at Manor Cottage. The cottage is very well presented and comfortable. There are two good pubs within walking distance and we even walked to the Long Myndd from the cottage. As pointed out in the description the door to the bathroom is very low 58 approx but we found hanging a hanger from the door frame reminded us to duck!
Sandra
We had a lovely holiday in the cottage . The cottage & the surrounding area were above our expectations . We would highly recommend staying at the cottage no problem Thankyou
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage provided everything that we needed. It is very well located for walks and the regular bus service from Ludlow to Shrewsbury passes close by if you don't fancy driving. We enjoyed sitting out in the quiet garden for breakfast and evening drinks. We are very likely to book again in the future and are happy to recommend Manor Cottage.
Elizabeth

Extremely nice cottage in a very beautiful area with good access to all places of interest. The cottage was comfortable and clean with most facilities yould wish for. the bed was very soft for us but that is a personal opinion.
Debbie
Lovely cottage, however a few pointers to make it wonderful Welcome folder needed with general info e. G heatinghob etc.we were cold and couldn't work heating No blind in bedroom broken with street light outside Kettle lid broken Oven door leaky burnt my hand Although not expected, but a nice touch would be enough washing up lqd, more than 1 tea towel and milk in the fridge on arrival. Also a guest book for feedback in the cottage would be nice. It's a lovely cottage and with small improvements would be a great place to stay
Stephen
Had a lovely stay but heating could be improved and struggled to operate hob but overall would recommend.
Phillip
We had another lovely stay, the cottage is very comfortable and peaceful. We had a warm and friendly welcome from the owner, who we must complement on her gift of homemade shortbread. Little Stretton is a very pretty village with two great pubs and great access for walking.Great Stretton is only twenty mins walk away or five mins drive,it has an array of shops and offering even more opportunities for picturesque walking.
Very pleasant and relaxing short stay in a very well equipped cottage. Very accommodating and helpful host, a perfect little escape. Plentiful amenities in Church Stretton a flat couple of miles away. Little Stretton itself has two excellent pubs serving good food within metres of the accommodation. Excellent base for day walks up onto Long Myndd or the Stretton Hills.
Fabulous stay and great location
We had a wonderful week staying in this charming cottage. Our hosts made us feel very welcome. The cottage is ideal for touring the local area and it provided everything you would want for a relaxing break. Highly recommended.
The cottage was well kept and clean, we both had a lovely short break and would highly recommend this property. The only slight problem was that we found the heating a little difficult to use and the bathroom was cold until we worked out how to use the storage radiator.
Nicholas
This is a lovely cottage from the 1600's. The two village pubs are either side and you are surrounded by hills and walks. Great accommodation and perfect location!
Joanne
Fantastic cottage, the perfect size for 2 people in a lovely picturesque village with 2 lovely pubs. Perfect place to explore the surrounding area and close to the railway station in Church Stretton. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable with a lovely outdoor area to sit with a glass of wine in the sun. Can recommend staying here for a week and the hosts were lovely and on hand to help or answer any questions and left us with a welcome gift and some home made biscuits which were delicious.
Beautiful cottage in a very pretty village. The owner is a lovely lady who brought us homemade biscuits and prosseco on arrival. Two excellent pubs in walking distance with very good food.
Beautiful 17C cottage situated in the quiet village of Little Stretton. Lovely owners next door. Two wonderful pubs 100 yards in each direction serving delicious meals. A 25 minute walk into Church Stratton or catch the bus 100 yards away into Shrewsbury or Ludlow. The holiday could not have been better and the accommodation was perfect and beautifully appointed. Thank you.

Lovely Thatched cottage and w Very welcoming after a day out at this time of year May be some instructions for the Microwave would have been helpful Spacious bedroom and Bathroom Thanks for the prompt response to having a Mirror in the Bedroom and one by the washbasin as well Bed a little low for us and quite a soft mattress but comfy A delightful owner who welcomed us to the cottage personally with Biscuits and a bottle of wine in the fridge
Definitely require a mirror in the bedroom, otherwise all very good and a charming lady owner. Two excellent pubs nearby plus a bus stop with access to Shrewsbury or Ludlow,
Very comfortable place to stay. The kitchen was well equipped. A couple of games and DVDs would have been welcomed but this did not spoil anything about our stay. Staying in Little Stretton was so convenient for walking the Long Mynd and having dinner at The Ragleth Inn.
Manor cottage is delightful an ideal setting for a quite break with the Longmynd as a backdrop and two very welcoming pubs within easy walking distance.
We had a wondferful holiday and Manor Cottage was ideal for us.
A mirror in the bedroom would be useful as would a dressing table and chair rather than the bedding ottoman. Otherwise a fab place to stay with friendly hosts, dogs and horses!
Bed was very soft for us, but everything else was excellent.
