6 The Engine Shed, Shrewsbury

The Engine shed was a delight. Absolutely spotless in every aspect. The hosts could not do more to ensure a home from home stay and a wonderful holiday. A fully equipped kitchen enabling a full Easter dinner. A welcome pack , the flowers were beautiful and a special touch, with plenty of information on places to go and things to do. I would Highly recommend.

We have stayed in many cottages over the years. This was by far the cleanest, lots of attention to detail. The fresh flowers, welcome pack, umbrellas, kitchen extras, comfy beds, fresh bed linen, comprehensive information folder. The location gave us easy access to town and station on foot. We were also invited to enter the property early as it was ready. This was a kind gesture as it enabled us to drop off our cases. Thank you Katie.

Wow, wow, wow. This has to have been our favourite place so far. Everything you need, all tastefully selected & placed. We prefer accommodation with room to relax in, this was if to a tee, it couldnt have been any better. The location was ideal, a nice walk into the town centre, plenty of choice to eat & drink, with a nice walk back after. Local pubs close by if you just want a drink. Places of interest within easy reach. We will be returning a great find and a great price.

This is the third time we've stayed at The Engine Shed and we can't recommend it highly enough. The property owner's attention to detail is exceptional, everything you could possibly need has been considered including thoughtful welcome items. We will certainly return next year.

The house has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Even the towels are high quality. The kitchen is definitely the best equipped we have ever had compared to the numerous other properties we have rented. In a very quiet location whilst only a short walk to the centre of Shrewsbury and the railway station for travelling further afield. Can highly recommend.

Fantastic accommodation, seemed to have been very well put together, everything available within the property that you could possibly think of to need and all good quality and plentiful. Place was light and airy and well laid out. Good placement for trips into the town and as starting point for excursions further afield. Would definitely visit again as perfect for our needs.

We enjoyed our week at the Engine Shed very much. The house is in a pleasant location close to the town centre, it is very comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Thank you to the owners for letting us stay in this fine house and also for the welcome basket and the flowers.

A wonderful modern town house, three floors with a cool temperature especially important during recent heatwaves. We kept windows closed and all blinds drawn shut, it worked ground floor lounge. The middle floormezzanine has a great kitchen and large enough dining area for four or even six people comfortably. Very well equipped, including paper towels etc. And thank you for a very useful welcome tray of biscuits and preserves, and crisps. There are three bedrooms on the top floor, beautifully comfortable together with one large en suite and one large family bathroom. Its tricky to keep these cool in these heatwaves again! but essential to close the blinds and windows during the day, until the sun goes down. Theres a ten minute walk into town, where great places to eat include Kanu Poke vibrant veganvegetarian foodso tasty, and filling and La Mer Rouge Mediterranean or Middle Eastern menudelicious. The Sabrina boat trip is short but fun and relaxing alternative to pounding the pavements all day. It was a joy to be able to stay at 6 The Engine Shed, a privilege to relax in a home from home or sit in the lovely garden space and watch the birdsknowing that a few yards away, at certain times of day, the traffic is virtually stationary. Magic!

The Engine Shed is a perfect place to stay, cleanliness, comfort, facilities etc are truly second to none. Everything you could possibly need is available and the welcome goodies are a lovely touch. We had a wonderful week exploring Shrewsbury and the weather was perfect

This really is a lovely property. Its stylish, very comfortable, quiet, and well positioned for enjoying the gorgeous town of Shrewsbury with its shops, cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants. There are wonderful riverside walks from the doorstep, and the surrounding Shropshire and mid Wales countryside is easy to get to. We would highly recommend this property and would return without hesitation.

This was our second stay at The Engine Shed. We couldn't fault the property. It's warm and comfortable, furnished to a high standard and beautifully clean. The owner provides a lovely welcome pack and the house was decorated for Christmas. It's a relatively short walk into Shrewsbury so no parking worries. All in all the perfect stay.

Lovely house well presented. Very clean and owner very approachable. House just a short walk into town centre. Would highly recommend. Only problem was just 1 parking space but easily resolved with 2nd car parking at train station which is also within easy walking distance to home. Enjoyable weekend had by us all

Its a beautiful, quirky, comfortable house with everything needed supplied. Tea coffee and milk available when you get there is especially appreciated and the welcome pack is great too, fresh flowers great first impression. Providing oil, spices, salt and pepper is really welcome, ditto kitchen roll, foil etc. its great that its so well equipped. Very thoughtful. Spotlessly clean, lovely rooms toys for the kids should you have them with you all in all a great stay. Shrewsbury is absolutely beautiful and the position of the property is great for walking from the front door. Would definitely recommend!

Beautifully looked after property. This was our second year here and it was excellent. Easy walk to the town centre. Couldnt fault it.

This is a lovely property. The owner has put a lot of care and attention with many small touches, such as fresh flowers, extra bits and pieces in the cupboards which all make the stay nicer. They all add up to a very welcoming feel to the place. Decor is really tasteful, beds super comfy and super bed linen and towels. Good access to town although local roadworks are impacting a little just now.

Great location for the station, as we travelled by train, and also for the town. Very well and thoughtfully appointed, home from home.

Great place no complaints at all. Perhaps could include road numbers as well as road names as we did do a tour of Shrewbury until found property.This just a small suggestion as property was excellent

The house is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Location is good, being an easy walk into the town centre where there are lot of eating places and shops. It's in a quiet area, though there was an occasional train to be heard in the twin bedroom. We were pleased to find a dishwasher which I didn't see in the listing. The shower in the main bathroom has no screen or curtain so wasn't as usable as we'd hoped. There's plenty to see in the wider area, we had no trouble finding a variety of places to go in our fortnight's stay.

Weve stayed in a lot of holiday homes and this has to be one of the best. Perfect location just a 5 min walk to the high street. Very clean and well decorated it really felt like home. Everything you need is included and we really appreciated the coffee, tea and condiments as well as the welcome pack of local biscuits and sweets. I hope well be back to stay again next year

We couldn't fault anything! The house is beautifully presented, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean with very comfy beds. It is in an ideal, peaceful location with an easy riverside walk into town. Contact with the owner was very pleasant and helpful, with amazingly quick response times.

Shrewsbury amazing passed through many times but this was the first time staying there. 1 parking space great for us. Bins in a safe building. Neighbours really friendly. Loved it thank you

What a lovely welcome to the engine room. Super clean & tidy. Fresh flowers, milk in the fridge and a few treats too. A vast amount of towels so all rooms catered for. The very comprehensive book about the appliances etc as well as places to visit was incredibly helpful. The property itself offered plenty of room for all and the posh handwash & hand cream was delightful. I had one query regarding additional parking, Katie answered the phone promptly and offered ideas. The engine shed is very close to town and Shrewsbury itself is an absolute delight. I'd like to add that I am a support worker, I stayed at the property with 2 people with Down syndrome and they found the property very much a home from home. Great to have a washing machine and an airer to keep uptogether with the laundry. We absolutely loved our stay and I will definitely recommend to family & friends.

Lovely quirky property over 3 floors. Everything was very good quality and there was everything youd need. The shower was roomy and powerful. The bed was super comfortable. It was very quiet considering its in the middle of other properties. Lovely walk along the river into the town centre. Had a lovely time catching up with old friends

An amazing stay in this beautiful property. The quality touches here elevate it from great to exceptional. The location for walking into Shrewsbury is ideal, I'd recommend the Riverside walk on a nice day it is glorious. Parking is easy at the property too. I can't think of a better place to stay when visiting Shrewsbury.

We have stayed in many hundreds of self catering accommodation properties all over the UK this ranks amongst the very best. Superbly equipped with all modern equipment, nothing short of perfect. The place can accommodate 6 adults. However, with only the one allocated parking slot should a second car be needed, parking nearby can be troublesome at peak times.

A lovely house to stay in plus a unique piece of history being a former engine shed Cleverly laid out absolutely loved the mezzanine kitchen and very well furnished with everything you need in terms of kitchen equipment. Very comfy bed and lovely towels. We really could not fault this place at all! I had to contact the owner Katie with a couple of queries and she was really prompt to answer, friendly, and helpful. There is parking for one car but if you have more than one car in your party the station car park is only a 5 minute walk away and 22 for the week. It is a ten minute walk into Shrewsbury which is a superb town full of stuff to do and plenty of places to eat and drink. The Market Hall is a must as is the Prison. So to summarise, we would not hesitate to recommend The Engine Shed as a comfy base to unpack all of the treasures that Shrewsbury and Shropshire has to offer. 1010.

Comfy, cosy, equipped with everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay. I even found plastic ducks and boats in the bathroom cupboard. it's within easy walking distance of the town and park. The property does have 3 floors so not suitable for all, but I would highly recommend it.
