Roseland Reviews

Adrian
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Roseland. The property is spacious and comfortable, and there were all the features we needed for our week long stay. We were welcomed by the owners who were very pleasant and showed us around the property. The owners were very keen to ensure we had a pleasant stay. We had no issues during our stay but I am sure they would have dealt with anything, had something arisen. We particularly liked the conservatory which is very large and a good place to sit during the evening. There are no caveats on the property itself but I will just mention one thing that is connected with its location and the local transport infrastructure. The town centre is about a mile away and around 20 minutes on foot. There is a good bus service our Gloucester bus passes worked in Shropshire! But it's only 2 per person anyway every half hour or so. Unfortunately the last bus terminates at 6pm. Uber has not yet established itself in Ludlow and we found that what taxis were operating were difficult to get the numbers we tried were all booked up for the evening. So we did end up walking back to Roseland quite a few evenings after going out for our evening meal. Having said that, the Squirrel is no more than 200 yards away and the food is excellent. There is also a generic pizza outlet nearby that delivers and quite a few of the restaurants in town deliver so there are options.

3 night stay in this very loved property. Hosts were there to welcome us & were available for any problems. The property is clean & comfortable. Everything you could possibly need is there for you. With the exceptional hot weather fans were provided in every bedroom. The garden is the star of the show & is absolutely beautiful to sit in & chill. The location is ideal with stores close by & a decent pub which serves food. The surrounding areas are stunning.Lulow is 20min walk, & there is a park & ride less than 5mins away. Really enjoyeded our stay & will definitely be back.
The cottage is very welcoming and the provision of milk, scones and wine on arrival was great. A lovely garden is the best feature of the property which is fully enclosed for fourlegged visitors. Ludlow is a lovely little historic town with many pubs and restaurants and the area in general is well worth a visit Shrewsbury, Ross on Wye and other townsvillages within fairly easy reach.
Comfortable well maintained property . Stunning well maintained garden. Central to amenities and would highly recommend.
I had very enjoyable week at Roeslands, certainly helped by good weather. I can well understand why it is called Roselands as there are some stunning roses in their beautiful garden, which is the best part of the property. The owner, who had very kindly given me to arrive an hour early and met me on arrival was very welcoming. My reasons for not giving it 5 stars are the following The driveway is very narrow, which was proven as a previous guest had damaged the front gate. I only have a small car but it was easier to park it on the road. As it is a dormer bungalow the bedrooms were very hot, despite the provision of a fan in each room. A few minor points, the kettle did not have a filter and needed descaling. Neither toilet had a toilet brush!
Rosemary
A perfect holiday home, with a beautiful garden, all wellcared for and maintained. We particularly appreciated the prompt provision of local maps, and the welcoming refreshments on our arrival. Every aspect of the house was wellequipped and very comfortable.
Jennie
Great location, easy to walk into Ludlow from the property. Well placed to explore the area and there is plenty to see and do locally. The owners met us on arrival and walked us through the property. The garden is lovely and is very well maintained. The house was very clean and well presented.
This was an excellent house. It was extremely well equipped, the owners had put a lot of thought into ensuring it had everything you could need. The kitchen had an excellent range of appliances, there were 2 teapots we drink different varieties of tea so this was an incredibly rare luxury!. There were several lovely seating areas around the property, with blankets in case you were chilly! Everything about the property was lively, and when there was a minor domestic issue it was rapidly resolved.
We were made to feel very welcome, and loved our stay at Roseland. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We very much appreciated our welcome scones and wine. Good location and would definitely recommend this house and stay here again.
Pauline
Lovely property well supplied. Hosts very welcoming. Very pet friendly and garden enclosed. Our dog appreciated the biscuits and toys provided.
A Christmas 4 night stay at Roseland Ludlow, overall our group of 4 adults and two dogs were happy with our choice, communication with owners was very good, The ratings we gave would be higher if we were staying in the summer, we couldnt enjoy the conservatory and beautiful gardens, no heat source in the conservatory and difficult to keep off the wet lawn when accessing from front conservatory doors, more stepping stones is a simple fix, we were looking forward to having a real fire for cosy nights but wasnt made available, this needs updating on winter heating options, an electric stove fire was in the lounge, we missed having an air fryer and slow cooker but generally the equipment and comforts for us and our dogs were well thought out, had an issue with a dog toy my Border terriers found, they both went into kill mode lol, the squawking ball was removed and hidden, we would certainly recommend to friends in the warmer months to enjoy the stunning peaceful back garden and walking distance to the town centre, we appreciated the goodies and warm welcome, lights and Christmas tree and heating on. Lots of positives eg, cleaning equipment and cleaning supplies readily available and draws full of everything you might need including dog supplies and good torches. Overall excellent property for couples with a pooch.
Christine
A very comfortable, clean, well equipped home from home. Perfect for us. Every thought has gone into making this a comfortable home with a Christmas Tree, mince pies and mulled wine. Thank you very much we hope to return early next year. Many Thanks Noel and Chris x
It was good to stay here for a week to enjoy Ludlow as well as nearby attractions. The enclosed garden is a big plus for dog owners. Stuart was good enough to meet me at the property when I arrived something that many other owners do not do. And thank you for the welcome gifts!
We had a very happy stay at Roseland. The garden is beautiful, even at the beginning of the colder months. Ludlow is a lovely market town with a castle and lots of historical buildings. St Laurence Church is fabulous. We explored National Trust and English Heritage properties in the area. Roseland is well equipped with comfortable beds and we were welcomed by the owner with scones, wine and milk which were very welcome. The walls have very interesting art works. We would definitely stay again.

Roseland was everything one would wish for and we will certainly plan to stay there again in the not too distant future. Furthermore Judy and Stuart provided us with a perfect start to our holiday.

The property is spacious with everything you would need and more for a lovely holiday . The routes to other areas are easily reached by car or regular bus service from ludlow . Ludlow is a beautiful market town with plenty of walks around the town and castle and a lovely riverside walk and park . Ludlow has lots goingvon from excellent restaurants pubs and coffee shops all dog friendly . A visit to Ludlow brewery and tap room is also recommended. To sum up roseland is a lovely clean property in an excellent location with excellent amenities and a stunning garden a perfect home from home .
Very well appointed holiday home about a mile outside Ludlow. Very clean with a lovely garden.
Anthony
Lovely home and garden. As we had an exceptionally hot week, a parasol for the garden furniture would have been welcome. The racks in the dishwasher need replacing as unable to use due to rust. The property is in a lovely convenient location ideal for exploring the surrounding area.
Beautiful garden and garden room full of flowers and birds. Felt like a well looked after home. A great place to return to after a busy day out. A lovely home in a beautiful interesting area. Thank you.
A lovely, well maintained, comfortable property that was an excellent base to explore the surrounding area. The owners were welcoming and explained everything. The contained garden was perfect for my dog to use. It was also lovely to sit out in and enjoy the smells and sight of the beautifully cultivated flowers. The welcome pack of milk, scone and wine were very much appreciated.
Dionne
Lovely stay thoroughly enjoyed our week it was really relaxing and the garden is just stunning
Roseland was a beautiful home away from home. Everything was so thoughtfully considered. The gardens are stunning, sunshine all day long in both gardens and bird song from morning to night. The beds are comfortable and bedrooms are quiet. Theres everything you could possibly need in the house. The location is great for a lazy wander into Ludlow shortcut footpath across train lines just around the corner and coop is just 2 min walk away for any last minute needs. I would recommend Roseland wholeheartedly.
Nicola
The property was lovely and very well organised, with all the items, and more, you need for a very comfortable stay, in a very lovely town. The house is tastefully and modernly styled with beautiful mature gardens and a selection of lovely artworks. Stuart and Judy really care about their guests and are very welcoming to all members of the group, including those with paws! The welcome pack of milk, teacoffee, cream tea and wine was much appreciated. And there was even a dog bed, treats, bowls etc for your use if required. We really enjoyed our weeks stay. Thankyou very much.
Emma-louise
Really lovely bungalow with equally lovely owners, nothing too much trouble. Lovely spot in Ludlow close to all local attractions and amenities, shop a 5 minute walk away. Beautiful woodland walks close by and can walk or get a bus into town. Beautiful garden. Execllent value property. Well equipped kitchen. Really lovely travel cot with nice mattress provided and all set up for us. The owners even accepted by supermarket delivery when I was running late! Would advise bringing blackout blinds if travelling with young children and blocking off the gap in the bannister upstairs. Otherwise everything we needed was provided.
The property was exactly as advertised and ideal for us as we were visiting relatives. It is about 1520 minute walk from the centre of Ludlow, but it has a pub, and shops 2 or 3 minute walk away. Also close to Shropshire way if you like to go walking. Nice garden if you have good weather.
Rosemary
We enjoyed our stay at Roseland and would definitely return. The very friendly and helpful owners have thought of everything you could need. A beautiful garden that is safe and secure for dogs and lovingly maintained.
We were very comfortable during our stay at Roselands. Loved all Judy's artwork and the decorations of the bungalow. The property was lovely and warm and very spacious for the two of us. Great to have an enclosed garden at both the front and the back for the dog to go out in safety.
Steven
A lovely house in a beautiful area, with owners who were prepared to go the extra mile for us. Thankyou.
Lovely and clean, very comfortable, equipped with everything we could possibly want with a fully enclosed front and back garden for the dog. We had a brilliant week in Roseland, the owners were very friendly and helpful. Ludlow is a fascinating place and the surrounding countryside is gorgeous. All in all we would highly recommend. Thank you too for the welcome pack, much appreciated.
Love the location of the property and the overall feeling. There is some updating required which is pointed out by the lovely owners, in the vast activities book they provided. Welcome pack was a delightful surprise. Garden was huge and our 2 dogs loved it, they could run all around the property safely. This is a beautiful property as it is and would stay again.
The small shower room desperately needs a fan, the room steams up to the point you cannot see and could easily fall over. The upstairs toilet cannot be used overnight as the noise it makes would wake the whole house. The fridge is far too small and you have to sit on the floor to use it properly. We left three nights early as we could not take the cluttered rooms any longer.
Good comfortable cottage well kept and beautiful garden
Great location and very comfortable accommodation which was well equipped. The garden was beautiful and a restful place to sit. Only problem was that the wifi was really poor, we were a family of 2 and both of us had a laptop. On multiple occasions we struggled to access basic emails and the connection dropped out regularly. This lovely house sleeps 5 people and in most families more than 2 devices would be being used. The wifi just wasn't good enough.
A lovely holiday home, very clean and comfortable. Beautiful garden which was relaxing to sit in. As commented by several previous reviewers the fridge is far too small for the property which is a shame because otherwise it would be a 5 star review.
Angela
Was a beautiful property, the owners were friendly and helpful and greeted us on our arrival. Was a nice gesture leaving us scones, milk and wine. The property was situated in a beautiful location and Ludlow itself has lots to offer and very dog friendly. Will definitely return.
A well loved property kept in excellent condition by the owners, the cottage style garden was a delight to sit in and enjoy the afternoon sun. Everything needed for a comfortable stay.
Stephen
Lovely house in excellent area for visiting local attractions. Garden superb for dogs. Great to have a dishwasher and washing machine. Fire stick and smart speaker also nice additions. Only complaint was the double mattress which needs an upgrade. Very noisy when getting into bed turning over and not comfortable so difficult to sleep.
Teresa
We had a lovely time in a super cottage that had everything you could want for your comfort and convenience. The garden was outstanding and lovely to view from the cosy conservatory. When we had a query our friendly hosts were quick to respond. Many thanks for a great week.
Lovely dorma bungalow with all the comforts of home and more, even the dog was catered for. Very happy with everything.
