Thimble Cottage is a two-bedroom self-catering cottage in Meeson, near Newport in Shropshire. It sits in the grounds of the owner's home with a private entrance and stunning views across the paddock to the Wrekin and the Shropshire Hills. The open-plan living space is light and airy with contemporary furnishings and a marble dining table.

The setting is deeply rural and genuinely peaceful. Watch horses graze from the garden or the French doors. The enclosed rear garden has a lawn, BBQ and a large hot tub serviced daily by the owners. It's the kind of quiet that's hard to find.

Sleeping up to four, the cottage has a king-size bedroom with Smart TV and balcony access plus a twin room (convertible to king on request). The bathroom features a freestanding roll-top bath and a walk-in shower. A double sofa bed sleeps two more.

We had a lovely week at thimble cottage. We where made to feel welcome and the cottage was nice and clean with everything we needed.we loved the hot tub and the little touches to the cottage like the free standing bath and the open window balcony in the bedroom.our daughter has special needs and she loved the hot tub and watching the horses.we had some nice days out at iron bridge shrewsbury town the monkey forest and the victorian town and climbing mountins.thank you for a nice chilled holiday at your cottage.

Had a lovely weekend break here to catch up with family near by. Found it to be a peaceful setting. We relaxed with a coffee in the morning watching the horses graze in the field and enjoyed time in the hot tub in the evening. The property, although in close proximity to the owners house felt very private. Although we didn't see the owners we found them very responsive to messages when we had any questions. We really enjoyed exploring the local area especially Ironbridge and all its museums which are now National Trust properties.

We spent 2 nights here me, my partner and 3 children. On arrival the cottage was not ready for us, the floor had been mopped with so much product & water that it took over an hour to dry, we were 15 minutes early but even so it would have still been soaking when we got there, the hot tub was cold and took quite a few hours to heat up which was disappointing as wasnt hot enough until late at night The cottage ceiling is triangle shaped very steep and I am 5 foot 4 and have to bend down in the bedroom, there is no mind your head sign or any warning and I had a massive bump to the head and concussion for days after. This is definitely a health and safety issue that I hope they report to their insurance!!! There was a massive build up of dust on the tv and there was an extreme amount of dog hair on the cushions a bit is expected but this was extreme. There were so many flies and no fly catchers or fly spray. We got told they would bring the horses over and they didnt did so children were disappointed.

Thimble Cottage was chosen by us for a 2 night break for 4 adults and 2 dogs. A beautiful cottage set in a wonderful quiet location. The cottage was well equipped with everything that we needed and the added extras were a lovely addition. Due to the layout of the bedrooms and main bathroom it is a cottage best for a family of 4 or very close friends. The only other slight negative is an extra comfy chair in the lounge area would make it perfect.

A huge thank you to Stephen and Charlotte! We loved our stay at Thimble Cottage, from the amazing hot tub to the beautiful views, we had the most relaxing time, and would highly recommend anyone to come and stay. The property is exactly as shown on the listing, with some extra special bits added it! Charlotte and Stephen, were both very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and were very friendly. Weve had a few hot tub stays, and this was by far the best hot tub weve been in, and spent many relaxing time during the week. The nice little treats on arrival, but greatly appreciated, our girls loved the hot chocolates from the Tassimo machine. There was a couple of really cute cats, that also came to say hello each evening, which was a nice little surprise! Would highly recommend Thimble Cottage, I would love to return soon. Hot tub was really lovely and bathroom was also good. But cottage is definitely not big enough for 6 people maybe 2 adults and 2 young children would be enough. Also upstairs much bigger than downstairs but mind your head upstairs! We weren't aware that master bedroom was a mezzanine so no doors to the bedroom. The biggest problem for us was the flies we knew there would probably be a few as a paddock backs onto the garden, but the cottage was literally full of them. We had to cover all our cutlery,plates,cooking utensils they were landing on everything including us during the night. Not very hygienic really. We would suggest something up at the doors or a deterrent as it was really bad. Also sorry to say but the hosts didn't introduce themselves at all. When we arrived the host just pointed to the cottage and walked off! Our car broke down and the RAC came to the cottage the host just sat outside on his doorstep and didn't even enquire if we were OK. Sorry to refer to them as the host but don't even know their names. I can see they have very good feedback from other holidaymakers but we certainly didn't feel welcome.

What a fantastic place! ! We loved our stay at this cottage, it's a brilliant location right in the heart of the countryside so was completely peaceful and silent. The accommodation was extremely clean and tidy and is a brilliant place to stay with everything you need or want. The secure private garden was a great size for our dog and kids to run around and enjoy. And the hot tub is just the icing on the cake! The surrounding area is typical countryside with some amazing local shops and local pubs which sell some incredible food! You won't be disappointed wherever you end up trying. The onwers are extremely helpful and answer any issues you may have instantly. We will not hesitate to stay here again if we even want a peaceful break away in the future! Absolutely gem of a place and sooo glad we found it

An amazing stay at Thimble Cottage! Set in the heart of the countryside, the location was so peaceful, with incredible views and surrounded by nature. The cottage had everything youd need for an enjoyable stay. The bed was very comfy, the hot tub was huge and the free standing bath was very relaxing after days spent hiking and exploring. The welcome treats were tasty and much appreciated. Shropshire is beautiful. Highlights were Carding Mill Valley, Ironbridge to Coalport, Shrewsbury, The Wrekin, Apley Woods, Haugmond Abbey & Exotic Zoo Telfordand all the tasty food finds along the way. We can highly recommend The Walrus, Shrewsbury 30 mins The Bear Inn at Hodnet <15 mins and The Sutherland Arms 5 mins or a 2mile walk. Shrewsbury has some great bakeries and independent shops. We wouldnt hesitate to return and would thoroughly recommend a stay at Thimble Cottage. We wish we couldve stayed for longer!

What a hidden gem! Weve just come back from a wonderful stay at Thimble Cottage. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome by the lovely hosts, who had gone above and beyond to make our visit special. The cottage was beautifully decorated with festive Easter touches. Our daughters were absolutely thrilled to find little Easter gifts waiting for them such a thoughtful gesture that made their holiday even more magical. The views from the cottage were lovely and we enjoyed watching the horses. One of the highlights for us was the large hot tub the perfect spot to relax and take in the views, especially in the evening under the stars. Every detail had been considered, with lots of extra personal touches throughout the cottage that really made it feel like a home away from home. We couldnt have asked for a better Easter break and highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, familyfriendly getaway with hosts who truly care.

This cottage was absolutely perfect for our short stay with friends. It had everything we needed and more. Easy access to the property and parking. It was spotlessly clean and well kept. The hot tub was so nice which was also well maintained and cleaned daily. It also worked very well at keeping hot. We enjoyed cooking and using the bbq in the garden area. The place is quiet and relaxing. Its also a short drive away from Shrewsbury which was a beautiful town with quaint shops and pubs. We would definitely recommend this place and would definitely return.

Absolutely fantastic cottage to take a well needed mini family moon. The cottage was kitted out with everything you needed and more! No expense sparred when fitting the cottage out! The bed was very comfortable, the little touches around the place were amazing and the hot tub at night star gazing was the cherry on the top. Had a wonderful stay at Thimble Cottage. Location was great and was probably the cleanest place we have ever stayed in. Everything you could need for your stay was provided and the large hot tub was fantastic. It was so relaxing to spend time in the hot tub watching the horses in the paddock. The hosts were great too not at all invasive but on hand if required. Waitrose, Indian restaurant and a lovely butchers all within ten minutes drive. We all had a lovely relaxing break and will look forward to returning.

We loved our weekend away at Thimble Cottage with our French bulldog. It was so peaceful and quiet. We slept really well. Loved the hot tub, seeing the horses in the neighbouring paddock, having private parking, being left chocolates and a bath bomb. The local butchers is definitely worth a visit for the sausages. We are definitely going to book again. If youre after a lovely relaxing break with nobody around, this is the place for you.

A lovely well needed break made better by this gem of a find! Set comfortably rural to Telford, Thimble Cottage is a new listing to Sykes and is well equipped with everything you need, including a brew kit welcome pack, doggy treats, cleaning kit & equipment and very comfortable bedding. The hot tub is an added bonus and I would recommend taking your own towels for this use. The cottage was immaculately clean on arrival and the hot tub is serviced daily. This well presented cottage is very comfortable, dog friendly with a secure and spacious garden area as well as a paddock space when available to use. The cottage is tucked away down some small country roads, so the only advice is to be cautious of this but you can guarantee a quiet peaceful space with a stunning view where you can even witness shooting stars at night! We highly recommend Thimble Cottage and have already shared the cottage details with family and friends. Thank you again to the proprietors for a wonderful peaceful break.
