The Park Reviews

As a large family, this is our 2nd time staying in The Park and we would definitely make another return trip. There have been many lovely improvements made since our first visit and the accommodation suits our needs perfectly. Highly recommend.
Property very clean and comfortable. Description very good. Situation lovely and very peaceful. Local pub highly recommended. Perhaps a note to drivers re the access lane? ie having high suspension or a 4x4 to cope with potholes and being a confidentcompetent reverser! Two dishwashers not necessary but the addition of a washing machine would have been nice.
Stephen
Excellent property for multigenerational family of 9. As described in brochure. Friendly on site manager. Plenty locally to see and do. Spectacular views from the cottage.
Great property, great location and the Red Kites were an added bonus. I could have stayed much longer but unfortunately had to return early for a funeral.
Barbara
We had a wonderful family Christmas at the Park which was perfect for eleven of us to spend quality time with our daughters and their families including five very energetic young boys between 4 and 11. We were greeted with a welcome box of Christmas biscuits and chocolates which didn't last long and was a very pleasant surprise. We loved the space available for the children to run around in the play barn and, even better, were the daily swims in the heated pool. The accommodation was perfect for us with en suite bathrooms in each comfortable bedroom and the addition of a decorated Christmas tree in the living room was a nice touch which put us all in the mood for the festivities. This was topped off by the arrival of a bottle of claret and a turkey baking dish from our hosts on Christmas eve, which are just the kind of touches to make us feel most welcome. Our stay was all too short but very memorable and one which was ideal for our purposes, for which we all thank our hosts for making it so enjoyable.
Jeffrey
Lovely place, everything you could ask for was there. Very comfortable and quiet
Anthony
A very enjoyable short stay. Lovely location and friendly host.
Jennie
We A group of 8 women stayed here for the weekend between 19th 21st July. The house was perfect for us. Very spacious and clean. Everything we needed. The pool Shared facility was pleasant and a welcomed bonus! There is a Sainsburys a couple of miles away, where we stocked up on food and drink which meant we didn't need to leave the house. Would highly recommend and I'll definitely be returning.
Carole
We all had a brilliant weekend. Beautiful house
Claire
The property was stunning as well as all the facilities, it had everything we needed for our short stay.
Heather
Our stay at the Park was lovely. The accommodation fitted our family of 11 well and on booking never realised there was an indoor pool so that was an added bonus, which was enjoyed by all. The only thing I would suggest is that the quilts could do with being replaced as they were rather stained. I would like to make a return visit in the near future.
Deborah
As a family 12 of us we recently stayed at the Park over the Easter weekend and had an absolutely brilliant time. The house was everything we could have wished for and there was plenty of room for us all to move around and be comfortable. Age range was from 69 down to 2 years of age but everyone found it really comfortable. There were no shortages of anything. Sharon who met with us on arrival was lovely and answered any questions that we had. She left her contact details and said that we could contact her with any issues. We took way too much food with us ! and agreed that if we returned we would use the local Tuffins Supermarket which literally sells everything ! A wonderful time enjoyed by all of us. Thank you
Catherine
We booked to celebrate a 70th birthday within the family. Party of 12, beautiful modern bathrooms, the bedrooms are just what you need, clean and fresh. Fully equipped kitchen for the numbers, tall fridge and under counter freezer. Adding this as this has been a factor when we stayed elsewhere with the same numbers. The owner came and introduced herself, stating if we needed anything we can knock on her, then a lady who manages the site also showed us around, both were lovely, nothing was too big to ask. We had a leak in one of the bedrooms, and that was dealt with immediately. Then the area had an issue with a armoured cable being cut through and the power would need to go off to fix. 20 minutes before the estate manager knocked with a tray full of candles and matches for us, was really apologetic. The pool was lovely and a factor into us booking it, the tennis court was great. In the barn theres a childs play area and a table tennis. Beautiful surrounding, apple tree pub 1 mile down the road. If you are looking for a nice meal out theres the Clive Arms, food was beautiful. Theres a food court behind it, which was great for a cooked breakfast and a lovely farm shop. We booked a cab with Alan, he couldnt have been more helpful if he tried! Absolute superstar. We would absolutely return, everyone was so helpful, it really made our stay perfect.
Excellent accommodation. Each bedroom had good clean ensuite facilities. Kitchen had excellent electric cooker and 2 dishwashers which are necessary when cooking for up to 12 people. The swimming pool was initially closed for maintenance and we had to ask for the cover to be removed when we wanted to use it.
Geoffrey
Enjoyable holiday, excellent accommodation, only downside having teenagers was the indoor play equipment ie. table tennis table, pool table, gym equipment was out of action. If hadn't been for swimming pool and outdoor tennis court, and being only residents there, meant that teenagers could use these facilities when they wanted. Otherwise recommend wholeheartedly. Local pub also good facility
We had a lovely few days in The Park with family to celebrate some big family milestones. It was good for everyone to have their own space and there were no fights for the bathroom in the mornings! Plus everyone in our party commented on how comfy the beds are. The local pub was nice and we all enjoyed the walk there and back. We also enjoyed a lovely meal at the Clive Arms which is a short drive from the house. All in all a lovely stay and we would definitely recommend.
Carole
Firstly I would like to say that our group of 10 friends enjoyed our holiday here. The property was clean and the gardens were well maintained.A lovely view over the Shropshire countryside. Any problems were dealt with as soon as the owners were made aware of them. Suggestions for improving our stay Update the information folder and put the instructions for appliances in one place. The covered games area equipment needs attention as some things were unusable eg the table tennis table was not on level ground.
Ten of us enjoyed a wonderful week at The Park, helped by some lovely autumn weather. Superb value for money, great facilities and in a very useful location to walk and enjoy the scenery and nature of the area. Also found some good pubs to dine in the evenings special mention to The Lion in Leintwardine and The Plough in Wistanstow, both excellent. Thanks to the owners of Onibury Cottages for a memorable stay.
Had an amazing time as a group of 12 friends. The beds are comfy and all the rooms were extremely clean with lovely showers, everything you need in the kitchen, only negative we would mention is the oven, it took an extremely long time to heat up and cook anything so be mindful. The views are amazing and we hope to return in summer so we can use the other facilities. People staying in the other cottages had private helicopters so we all enjoyed watching them.
Jacqueline
We have just returned from a week at The Park. The property suited our needs well 6 couples. The bedrooms were comfortable with great ensuites. Not a huge amount of shelf space but overall adequate. The lounge was big enough for 12 sitting on two settees and two chairs. The kitchen was essentially well equipped with an abundance of good glassware, dishes and pots and pans. 2 dishwashers were a bonus and were well used. Lovely big table and comfortable dining chairs. Big fridge and separate freezer both great. The oven however left a lot to be desired, took ages to cook anything and if you left food in a dish near the bottom of the over the bottom ended up burnt! The hob was no problem. We used the swimming pool once and were not enticed back. Not a welcoming building and the so pool needed some TLC!! The photos of The Park needed a description with them as there were pictures of the hospitality suite and we all thought when originally viewing the property on line that those pictures were part of the property we rented. We had a few issues that needed addressing whilst we were there and these were dealt with efficiently by the Manager Sharon. We loved the location and certainly would recommend The Park for a group of 6 couples. We enjoyed our week there very much.
