Ragleth Place Lodge Reviews

Nicola
Quirky, comfortable, cosy apartment. Light and airy, more spacious than expected. Scenic and peaceful location, within easy reach of Church Stretton for shops. The two pubs in Little Stretton are very good. Great walking routes from the door, or a short drivebus ride away we were spoilt for choice!
This is one of our favourite holiday cottages. Lovely space with everything you could want and safe offroad parking. The downstairs area is perfect for wet boots, walking gear etc with a drying rack. Lovely kitchendining area upstairs with decent sized freezer as well as freeze box in fridge. Walk onto the Long Mynd from the doorstep on several different paths and 2 excellent pubs in the village. What more could you ask for!
We had a very comfortable stay at Ragleth Place Lodge. Our hosts, Wendy and Chris are very hospitable and did everything to make sure we had everything we needed. Everything in the accommodation is to a very high standard and there was absolutely everything we needed for our stay. We cooked for ourselves but also took advantage to being close to two pubs one right next door and enjoyed everything they had to offer and were made very welcome. We are keen walkers so it was a great place to start some wonderful walks, both on the Long Mynd and up Ragleth Hill on the other side of the road. We also took the opportunity to go to Ludlow and Shrewsbury by bus and explore these lovely towns. We had a great week. Plenty to do and wonderful accommodation. Thanks Wendy and Chris.

The property is in a great location, if you are a hill walker you will be spoilt for choice of walks. Apartment has all that you would need, clean and comfortable with lots of space to relax in, good view of the hills and sheep walking past the patio. Two excellent pubs within 2 and 5 minutes walk, the location is extremely quiet during the night. Would recommend and return.
Lovely place situated in fantastic settings close to the beautiful villages of Little and Church Stretton. The property itself was extremely comfortable and so relaxing, a perfect location to explore the wider Shropshire Hills. Hosts were spot on and I hope well return in the not too distant future.
Perfect holiday property. In very good condition and well laid out. No trouble with access through the conservatory as didnt need to use spiral stair case. Good wide steps with railing to side of property we suffer from occasional knee problems so this was important for us. Lots of small extras in the kitchen which were appreciated along with an amazing fresh loaf and scones from the local baker. Fantastic pub food at the Ragleth pub which was next door but out of earshot. The food in the other village pub looked first class too. Beautiful village with some special listed properties. Able to walk from the door to the fellside behind the property and up to the tops quite easily on the path. Church Stretton not far for an evening stroll. The owners were friendly and helpfully available next door, but not overlooking the property. On the end of WhatsApp for any incidental questions. The only minor detail missing for us was a Scrabble set and maybe a few more mugs please in case washing up is delayed! However, a great selection of information leaflets, walks and maps for Shropshire. I highly recommend this property with lovely views in a great location for exploring.
Jonathan
Wow, what can I say? The accommodation was quirky but brilliant, very well set out. There was everything you could need and more and the owners were very helpful. The location was very special and very beautiful walks from the door were amazing. Would definitely recommend and stay again
A fabulous stay in Shropshire. Cottage has everything you could possibly need and is much more spacious than the photos suggest. Great walks from the door, train nearby if you want to go further afield. Local pubs do brilliant food and gave a warm welcome. Would not hesitate to recommend and would most definitely book again! Thank you.
Charmaine
We had a great holiday here, despite the weather! This accomodation is spacious , and a bit quirky. Well placed for exploring the area by car or walks from the door. Close to two good pubs booking advised. We would recommend this property.
Wonderful place to stay. The owners were the perfect hosts and everything was provided and superclean. Midway between Ludlow and Shrewsbury with a bus stop at the end of the road. Two great country pubs on your doorstep serving 5 food. The accommodation is perfect for a coupleand dog. Watch Red Kites, woodpeckers and buzzards from the rear patio. A 25 min walk into lovely Church Stretton. Couldn't have been better. Thank you.
Holiday at Raglath, Little Stretton The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The owners were friendly. Enjoyed sitting and eating outside in the sunshine. Appreciated the powerful shower after long walks.
We had a super couple of days here. Lovely quirky and cosy property, very well thought out . We didn't use the spiral stairs as they were a bit scarynarrow and steep for our 2 dogs but it was fine as there was an alternative way into the property. This was also up some stairs though so people with mobility issues would struggle. Great location. Pub next door which looked very popular. Close to Church Stretton which is a lovely little town and the beautiful Carding Mill Valley great for walking. Thank you for a super stay!
A great stay in Tardislike property. Very comfortable and clean. 2 excellent pubs nearby and a good bus service to Shrewsbury. Plenty of places to visit close by, can definitely recommend.
Philip
Excellent accommodation in a perfect area for walking. We appreciated the welcome gifts and hope to return.
Barbara
Our second stay here and it won't be our last. Quiet and peaceful. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Lovely private terrace. Footpaths into the hills and 2 pubs on the doorstep...perfect cottage, perfect location.
Lovely, comfortable, spacious apartment with incredible views. Sunny patio for sitting out. Perfect position for walkers with nearby paths onto the Great Mynd. Easy access to the main road, so good for visits to other attractions. Two good pubs very close by. Even a bus stop within 50yds, with buses to Shrewsbury or Ludlow, useful at times for getting to the start of other walks, or a visit to these interesting towns. Train station at Church Stretton. What more could we ask for?
Stephen
Property and location perfect for us. Beautiful views, peaceful, two lovely pubs serving food, close enough for all walks, and the walk into Church stretton. Everything we wanted and comfortable bed which is a definite bonus. Would not hesitate to book again.
Lovely place ideally situated with good views and walks close by. A few yards from the pub and the bus stop with a frequent service.
A really lovely space, and perfect for 2. We both love the spacious kitchen area that catches the early morning light. Perfect for a leisurely breakfast and cups of tea. And plenty of room downstairs for wet walking gear and boots. Ideal for us as there's lots of wonderful walking right from the door. We've been before and will definitely be back!
Tracey
We had a lovely week at Ragleth Place Lodge, a beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings and the two village pubs were first class. There are two entrances to the cottage so you dont have to use the spiral staircase which we found a bit steep. This was our first visit to Shropshire and definitely wont be our last, there is so much to explore. Thank you to The lovely hosts Wendy and Chris.
Our stay at Ragleth Place Lodge was very comfortable and all the facilities we required were in place. The setting is lovely, up against the hillside and we enjoyed the use of the patio where we could watch the buzzards and other birds. It was a good location and ideal for walking on the Long Mynd. We would definitely recommend the place to others and it is one that we would return to. The owners Chris and Wendy are very nice and the welcome package was thoroughly enjoyed. Many thanks.
Beverley
Another perfect stay, nothing is too much trouble for Wendy and Chris.
This is a lovely property with so much to offer. Its well located next to a pub that serves good food! Well placed for walks with stunning scenery and towns with historical interest. The property itself is beautifully presented, warm and cosy and caters for your every need. Would definitely recommend Ragleth Place Lodge, without hesitation.
Great stay. Owner had left 2 pints of milk small uncut loaf 2 scones jam and clotted cream. Lovely surprise. Lovely touch. It was a well equipped kitchen. We cooked every night. Really comfortable. It is attached to the owners house but didn't hear them. Downstairs conservatory has lino on the floor so great for taking a wet dog in and drying him off before going upstairs into the rest of the lodge. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Excellent holiday home nestled in a little village within walking distance to 2 pubs and easy access to the main roads. Beautiful place to stay and would definitely stay again.
What can we say ? . Yet again another gem in the Sykes Cottage portfolio. Lovely, comfortable home in the most wonderful location . We would certainly recommend and will be staying there again soon
We loved our stay here. Such a lovely property in a very peaceful setting with 2 great pubs serving great food within an arms reach. Wendy and Chris were both very friendly ensuring our stay met our expectations and more. Highly recommend!

Weve just come back from a lovely stay at this quaint cottage. We had everything we needed and more. Walks from the doorstep and strolls round to two fabulous pubs that serve amazing food. We loved lighting the log fire and relaxing after a long day exploring the area. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Highly recommended!

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful location. Fantastic walking in stunning countryside, had not realised Shropshire was so hilly in this area.
Lovely accommodation and wonderful walks on the doorstep too. A great place for a relaxing holiday.
Barbara
Just returned from 2 weeks in this wonderful quiet little hideaway. Attached to the owners property but totally private. Wonderfully warm and cosy and the bed is so comfortable, we slept the best sleep ever. The balcony at the rear to the property was perfect and secluded for morning coffee or evening drinks. Location perfect for touring and walking. Two fantastic pubs within 5 mins walk of the accommodation.
Beverley
Wendy and Chris go the extra mile to provide a perfect stay, nothing is to much trouble
Lesley
A wonderful property in the beautiful village setting of Little Stretton. Welcoming but unobtrusive hosts. A really well thought out annexe which gave complete privacy including own patio on which to relax with a glass of wine in the evenings. Would highly recommend Ragleth Place Lodge for a truly relaxing holiday.
Spacious, nicely furnished apartment with complete privacy, views out of all windows onto the hill adjacent, which was covered with bluebells when we arrived. Several seating areas for relaxing and reading. Well equipped kitchen. A very pleasant place to spend time in. The downstairs conservatory was excellent space for drying waterproofs, boots and washing.
Valerie
Wendy and Chris have thought of everything. We absolutely loved our stay at Ragleth Place Lodge and look forward to future stays.
Very comfortable apartment, well equipped, clean and quiet. Lovely pub on the corner.

Great lodging in a most gorgeous setting. Accommodation was perfect, for relaxing and a perfect base to enjoy the Shropshire Hills with the Long Mynd as your back garden
Robert. P.
The lodge is located in a tranquil, picturesque setting, ideal for the enjoyment of this wonderful area, whatever your pursuit. A well appointed lodge, with all the comforts and facilities to make it a perfect base to come back and relax or visit one of the 2 local pubs. A warm greeting from the hosts who were available, if needed, but totally unintrusive during my stay. Thanks for the special touches of the welcome pack. This is certainly a place I would return to stay if I visit this area again.
Barbara
