Jacob's Meadow Pod 2 Reviews

We had a great stay overall. The cottage was surprisingly spacious and had everything we needed. The surrounding area was perfect for our dogs, with plenty of space where they could run freely and truly have the time of their lives. Just a short distance away there were also beautiful views over the hills, definitely worth visiting. A couple of small downsides were that the supermarkets were about a 30minute drive away, and the mattresses were relatively firm. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend it.
Graham
Beautiful countryside location. Secure off road parking. Warm and cosy, well equipped pod. The veranda and patio set were ideal for dining outside. Plenty of interesting places to visit within a short drive. Will definitely go again.
Louise
Great stay, beautiful location had leave a night early due to family emergency but overall enjoyed it.
Melissa
Lovely place to stay. Cosy with everything you need. Amazing view of the country.
Skaiva
Very nice place to stay in. Very comfortable and had everything we needed including a great view outside. Perfect place to relax in away from the city
Darren
After having read previous reviews I would have least expected a pint of milk in the fridge so we could make a cup of tea after a five hour drive, there was nothing, not even a treat or bowl for the dog who we had to pay 25. 00 for, the bed was like laying on concrete, high level cobwebs ...... not impressed
We loved the Pod, the location was great, and we enjoyed our stay very much. It was very well equipped with everything one could need for a short stay. The towels were adequate, but ought to be replaced. A couple of suggestions, the views are lovely, the hedge obscures some, and the oak tree on the left hand side if one of the lower branches was removed the views across to the hills could be seen much better from the pod. As dog owners we like to leave everything clean and tidy, we found it impossible to remove all of our dog's fur from the black rug with the hoover, perhaps that should be changed for something easier to clean?
Anthony
Just fantastic great place to stay
Deirdre
Excellent Property in a beautiful location.
Amanda
Very comfortable pod set in a beautiful & tranquil garden. Fully enclosed so great for the dog. Generally clean apart from high level cobwebs. Owners had included condiments, foil & clingfilm which was a nice touch even a bottle of Procesco in the fridge on arrival. Great relaxing week thank you
Amazing pod, Had everything we could have ever needed. Very clean and comfortable. Nice little extras too for the dog and a bottle of wine for us. Our host Di was very helpful and friendly when we met her, lovely meadow for the dog to play in. Great to be able to sit out on the decking even in the rain due to the covered area and the barbecue is a great extra feature too . Would definitely return and highly recommend .
Amanda
Lovely place to stay for a few days and would definitely stay there again. The only observation I would make is that the evening we arrived it had rained and the temp dropped which turned the rain on the ramp and veranda to ice...it was quite treacherous...we managed ok but someone less steady on their feet could slip. Might be worth investing in a grit box of some kind? This is now way a complaint just an observation. It definitely wouldn't put me off staying again.
Andrea
We had a beautiful peaceful week at Jacob's Meadow in Pod 2. The self contained pod has everything you need for a very comfortable stay, even for your dogs Bowls, a blanket and poo bags are provided. The outside decking has a lockable gate so if you take children or pets it is secure. The meadow has secure fencing and gates too, although there are two ponds within the meadow so best to supervise dogs and especially children. Advice is also given on this in the information pack in the welcome folder in the pod. The pod has warm heating and is comfortable with good appliances for cooking if you want to stay in and eat. Extra blankets are provided for comfort if you need them. The shower is spacious and warm. Linen provided is clean and comfortable. It is out in the sticks but we love this, we go there for a complete break. If you do want to keep up with the outside world the WiFi and signal are very good
We wanted a place with peace and quiet to get our dog away from fireworks. This Pod delivered in spades! Beautiful location and perfect for our needs. We had everything we needed and enjoyed a lovely 4 days in the countryside. Would definitely consider booking again.
Rebecca
Perfect get away place, will definitely be coming again ! !! However, we have forgotten a couple of items of clothing and unfortunately do not have any contact information
Weve just had the best 2 weeks in this pod! This is the third time weve stayed once in Pod 1 and love it every time! If you want a peaceful, relaxing break you really cant beat Jacobs Meadow. The pods have everything you could ever need and more and the owners are lovely. We cant wait to return!
Loved our stay at Jacobs Meadow, facilities were good but getting up and down ladders during the night was a bit of a faf, clean and tidy and everything you need for a comfy stay,my 2 dogs loved the outside area and the walks in the local area were spectacular. All in all very pleasant break away from the rat race.
Thank you for having us again! We had another wonderful stay at Jacob's Meadow and as usual sad to leave at the end of it! We cannot fault the property or the location and cannot wait to return.
Suzanne
This has to be one of the best places we have stayed for peace and quiet. There is another pod, however this was vacant during our week so we had the place all to ourselves. Having said that we think it will still have been relaxing should the other pod have been used. We have stayed in a similar pod elsewhere so knew it would be nice. The advantage to this pod being provately owned is that is was epuipt with EVERYTHING you would need and more. Diane has thought of everything. My husband and two german shepherds didnt leave the site at all. The dogos loved the space outside, being nice and secure just off the quiet road allowed us to relax with being concerned about them wandering out. Not that they would but easing nonetheless There are plenty of walks and places to visit should you so choose, great place for singles, couples and families alike. We were lucky with the weather as a whole and got to use the gas fuelled BBQ. Makes such a change to having to source coal etc when staying somewhere, so this was great. A big bonus for us is that the location is only an hour and a half from home yet. This is truely a little gem and we will definately be back .
Steven
This is a very well equipped, comfortable and dog friendly property. I loved the covered veranda on the front, great for eating outside or just sitting and listening to the quietness.
Pod2 provided a great base, with everything we and our dog needed. Very peaceful, beautiful setting, good walking opportunities. Really enjoyed our stay
Thank you for providing this wonderful holiday spot, the clean, beautiful pod and the peaceful, safe garden, perfect for families! Steping out on the porch and never getting bored of the view, listening to the sound of the brook, the soft grass under our feet, feeling so safe and private in this corner of heaven. We totally recommend this place.
Lovely pod in quiet, and peaceful location. Clean, well equipped and an excellent base to explore the Shropshire Hills.
What an absolute gem. Coupled with long awaited settled weather, We had a very comfortable stay at Jacobs meadow pod 2. Amazed at how in such a compact space there was everything we needed and more. We really enjoyed the veranda space and sitting out in the mornings eating breakfast watching red kites and hearing the cuckoo and curlews. Cozy settees for watching TV in the evening. Very good beds to sleep in. We had an issue with Tesco delivery driver not locating us so had to find a shop. A pint of milk for a hot drink left at the pod would have been nice for this eventuality. We had the electric trip out on us but it was quickly sorted once we found the electric box. A bit more instruction as to where to find the electric box and what the levers are might be helpful. We had no mobile phone signal for making calls to chase our shopping or to ring the owner. But we managed. Only small things. We would definitely return in a heartbeat. Thank you .
We had a lovely relaxed stay in Pod 2 in this beautiful setting. Mixed weather but it didnt matter. Time to unwind and listen to the birds. Hosts are extremely sociable and welcoming. Even a nice chilled bottle of wine waiting for us. We will definitely go again. Our dogs loved the freedom of running free round the field. And jumping in the pond and stream. Thank you for a delightful week

Lovely property and great area, there was a few issues with cleanliness with a few cobwebs in high places, dead flys on side and strangely a long hair in the toaster, didnt put us off though as everything else was amazing and would definitely return
Our new home away from home. ...this was our 3rd visit to Jacob's Meadow in a year and it didn't disappoint. We feel so at home here now and my dogs loved the beautiful garden too. Thank you for having us again...we will be back soon, Sacha, Dan and the pups.
We enjoyed a lovely stay at Pod 2 Jacobs Meadow. The pod was immaculately clean and had everything we needed. We had a very comfortable, peaceful and relaxing few days. The owners were welcoming and attended to an issue with the gas immediately, meaning we were not inconvenienced in anyway. Thank you. We will most definitely be visiting again.
A lovely pod in a peaceful surrounding. .. very well maintained by a very friendly owner. We will definitely stay again...
Our second visit to Pod 2 and just as wonderful. ...so much so that we've booked to go back in April! I think that says it all
What a wonderful and relaxing place to stay. The pod was very well equipped and so cosy. The weather wasn't the best, but we still had a great time and dogs loved watching the little birds, pheasant and the squirrels in the garden. The only thing missing was a hot tub, but that is a personal preference. Many thanks to the owners xx
Jasmeet
Lovely pod and very clean. Due to the weather I would suggest some salt for the stairs up and path but otherwise an amazing stay.
Had a lovely stay in pod 2. I actually forgot to write in the welcome booklet how great our stay was. Shame about the awful weather but this did not ruin our stay. Location was fantastic and definitely would like to stay again but in warmer months.
Lovely few days spent at Jacobs Meadow. Tranquil location very clean and warm pod. Comfy beds and a nice hot shower. Great location for walking. Will definitely be back
Absolutely spotless! ! The plug in nightlight is a great touch as my Mum has poor eyesight. We did not understand what the raised bed really meant. My Mum was unable to get on and off safely and had to sleep in the lounge. She had no problem with this but the curtains were not blackout. So she didn't sleep as well. There was very little cupboard space for food so we had to leave most of it outside. The folding table was genius!! A motion sensor light could do with being installed by the gate as going to the car in the dark was quite dangerous. Now this sounds like we were unhappy, the absolute opposite and we can't wait to return!! What a perfect spot for a quiet getaway!! Hearing the running water from the Brook was lovely!! The heating was amazing! Certainly didn't take long to warm up!! As no drafts anywhere which was perfect!! Oh and no spiders!! Lol...bathroom was fabulous, I could absolutely live in one!! Thankyou
Gillian
The pod was comfortable. The meadow was very peaceful and lots of thought had gone into its layout. The bird feeders in sight of the pod were lovely, as they attracted so many birds. The furniture was very comfortable. The verandah was marvellous, and we enjoying sitting out even when it was so hot, as we were protected from the sun. Our only suggestion is that the address to the pod includes White Grit. We travelled over 200 miles from West Sussex, and did not come via Shrewsbury. We had great difficulty finding it. Fortunatly, a local lady in one of the villages was able to direct us based on the tin church landmark. We did research the location before we left home and assumed the address given would enable us to find the location easily. The signal on our phones did not work in the local roads. We did have an ordnance survey map and would have been able to locate the pod easily if this information had been provided. This part of the world was entirely new to us. It was not the best way to start our holiday.
We had a lovely holiday. The ideal place to take family and our dog. A peaceful place and the ideal to have a few days off and rest. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.
Jackie
The best equipped kitchen I have ever had in a selfcatering holiday. Appliances all easy to use and instructions available if necessary. Comfortable, firm beds. The shower and bbq are excellent. Enough room for 3 humans and two medium dogs so we didn't trip over each other during our week on site. Loved the porch area and its view and appreciated the quiet of the locale. The Pod 2 guide has great suggestions of things to do and places to visit within a short drive. Highly recommend the Coop in Church StokeYr Ystog for provisions.
