The Butler’s Quarters Reviews

Second stay second very happy week. Added bonus, I had Chris's tour of the garden this time, leading to immediate lawn envy I wasn't envious, I'm always that shade of green. BQ is very well equipped and very well lookedafter. The bed remains worth going to bed for in its own right and even the internet connection is available everywhere. Hope I can find the excuse for a summer stay now.
Definitely one I want to come back to! Spacious, airy, generously and beautifully curated, there was no aspect of the Butlers Quarters that wasnt ah! as opposed to oh. There was everything I needed to cook my evening roasts and the fourposter bed is worth going to bed for in its own right. If you are looking for peace, quiet and some quality, it's all here. Ive already booked a return visit. It would be rude not to.
The accommodation is warm and comfortable, and Kate is a kind and welcoming host.
We had a lovely stay at Butlers Quarters. An ideal base for visiting this part of Shropshire. Lots of walks and places to visit.
Sheila
This was our third stay at The Butler's Quarters, which is situated in the Shropshire countryside close to Much Wenlock, and a perfect location to visit many attractions in Shropshire and beyond. The accommodation is extremely clean, comfortable and lacks nothing so perfect for a relaxing holiday.
Briony
We experienced a genuine welcome from our hosts who made our stay a lovely holiday. The apartment was clean and comfortable and in a lovely setting which was well placed for exploring the local area.
My wife and I had a very enjoyable week in The Butlers Quarters Chris and Kate were very welcoming and friendly. The accommodation was very good with everything you could need.and lovely views from the house and garden. We certainly hope to return and most certainly recommend it..Thankyou to Chris and Kate for a wonderful holiday.
The Butlers Quarters very easy to find, well situated in a very quiet area yet within easy reach of all the local attractions. The traditional interior with all the oak beams made it feel very welcoming and homely. On arrival we had a welcome basket with bread, eggs, milk and cake. Highly recommend this accommodation to anyone thinking of coming to the area.
I had a wonderful week at Bourton Manor, the Butler's Quarters is a lovely cozy hideaway. It's the perfect spot for visiting Shropshire, within easy reach of lots of National Trust properties and some wonderful gardens. Kate was the perfect host. Hope I'll be back again next year!

We have stayed in many Sykes Cottages over the years and The Butlers Quarters has got to be our favourite so far. From the lovely antique furniture to the well supplied kitchen, the owner Kate has it spot on. She was a super host, very friendly and helpful. Set in the most glorious countryside with amazing views, we will definitely be returning.
Very comfortable and quiet. Perfect location for site seeing in the area. Nice to have a personal welcome.
Christina
This is our fourth stay at Butler's Quarters and as always, it was fantastic! Our lovely host, Kate, was so welcoming and friendly, and the extra special touches such as the homemade bread, scones, eggs and milk make you feel really spoiled. The luxurious apartment is really comfortable, with everything you need to make it the perfect place to stay and use as a base to visit friends and visit the many nearby attractions. Many thanks to Kate for another wonderful visit!
Great owners who make you feel welcome. Super location and facilities.
A very unique and special place . It was so relaxing I really enjoyed my stay. Would love to make a return visit in the future.
We went looking for a centrally located base to explore Shropshire Isn't it great when you discover an unexpected gem ! Being part of a huge Mansion, set in lovely countryside, this quirky accommodation has everything to recommend it. Superbly comfortable, quiet, relaxing and possessing a welcoming atmosphere exactly what we love. A great kitchen, a super bathroom, with a large doubleend bath and shower over, an 'antique' bedroom with lovely mahogany furniture, but, most of all...what a comfortable four poster bed ! We sneaked a look at the label on the mattress...'Hand made in Yorkshire'..no wonder we didn't want to leave it ! In discussions on our way home, we came to the conclusion that we had been thoroughly 'spoiled'. It is little wonder that there are two guest books, all full of gushing admiration. For us, Just perfect.
What can I say, but an amazing place to stay. Very good communication by the owners prior to arrival, and also a very nice welcome when we go there . The place is peaceful, as well has having all you need for a great stay. Its in very easy touching distance of Bridgenorth home of the Severn valley railway, iron bridge and Shrewsbury. And I would also recommend Greys in iron bridge for good tea shop. Overall we had an amazing stay and will be back .
Kate and Chris were SO friendly and welcoming and quite apart from the benefits of the apartment itself, made the stay. Kate was suggesting events that were happening locally in Much Wenlock worth an explore, and just generally being hospitable, whilst also leaving me to do my thing. The apartment itself is very spacious and a perfect base for exploring Shropshire. The downstairs room has a large dining room table at one end, and sofa and tv at the other. The well appointed kitchen is on a 'midlevel' floor, and has everything you need, should you want to cook. Up some more stairs, above the downstairs room is the bedroom and bathroom both spacious. The bed is comfortable, and there are lovely views. Because it is over 2.5 floors, it's not ideal for folks who aren't great with stairs.
Anthony
The Butler's quarters were so comfortable, and well situated to travel to so many areas within a short drive. The hosts,Chris and Kate were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely come back again.
Sheila
We arrived to the warmest welcome from Kate, the owner of The Butler's Quarters. Our accommodation was as well presented as when we stayed there last year. It was clean, warm and smelled fresh, especially in the kitchen where a delicious ginger cake was waiting in the welcome basket. The Butler's Quarters is ideally situated for visiting southern Shropshire and the borderlands with Wales and the market town of Much Wenlock nearby. We look forward to returning.
The Butlers Quarters was above and beyond all our expectations. Set in a superb location that is quiet and really close to many great places to visit. We were warmly greeted by Kate and immediately felt at home. We really enjoyed our stay and just a tad sad to return the keys. Thank you again Kate. A definite 10 out of 10.
We had a wonderful holiday! A warm welcome, the accommodation was lovely, spotlessly clean and very spacious. A most peaceful spot with glorious views. We found lots of varied and interesting places to visit without travelling very far, ideal for a relaxing break.
Character apartment in a beautiful location. The hosts live on site and are very friendly and welcoming. There is so much to see and do in Shropshire without having to travel very far. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break.
We had a great week. The apartment was perfect with lots of character and space. Comfortable bed, lots of storage should you need. Good shower with nice big bath. Everything clean and a welcome pack to boot. Very quiet at night which is perfect. We explored the surrounding area and beyond doing lots of great walks. Chris and Kate were great hosts. We will be back because it is a place that allows you to relax.
Elaine

A very spacious apartment with all facilities one would expect. Car parking is very good and the WiFi is excellent. Good rural views of the countryside from the apartment windows and the garden area designated for guest use.
Christine
We had a lovely week in the beautiful historic Butler's Quarters. Chris & Kate made us so welcome on our arrival. The accommodation is well equipped and very spacious. The welcome basket was a lovely touch. Being able to have a brew and snack after a long journey was great. The location of the property is ideal for touring Shropshire, there's lots to see and do nearby.
The Butlers Quarters is everything it is advertised to be. It is set in beautiful surroundings, spacious, very well equipped, extremely comfortable and within easy reach of lots of walks and NT properties. Kate and Chris could not have made us feel more welcome. The starter pack of eggs, milk, bread and cake were much appreciated and a wonderful touch. Having stayed in many self catering properties over the years, this certainly features as one of the very best. Thank you Kate and Chris for allowing us to share part of your beautiful home for the week.
Claire
I had a v enjoyable holiday at The Butlers Quarters. Chris and Kate were helpful and welcoming. They live on site and achieved a good balance between being available if needed and giving privacy to let you get on with your holiday. The accommodation was as beautiful as the photos suggest. Bourton was a good base for walking with The Lawley, Caer Caradoc, The Wrekin and Long Mynd within 30mins drive. Highly recommended.
Driving up the gravel drive towards Bourton Manor and seeing the whole house was breath taking. It truly was one of the most palatial properties we have ever stayed in. Comfort and cleanliness were first class. The homely touches including a sweet treat were very thoughtful. The view from the shared garden was stunning and a perfect place to sit and watch the sun go down listening to the birds. Although advertised as one bedroom it is so spacious. We would highly recommend staying in the Butler's Quarters meeting the owners was a delight, we were made to feel so welcome. The countryside setting is incredible you will be entranced by Shropshires' beauty.
Christina
We have stayed at this property several times & absolutely love it! It is very stylish, with excellent facilities. The hosts are so welcoming & always a delight to see again. The extra touches, such as the welcome pack, are really appreciated & we have already booked again for next year!
Excellent apartment, furnished to match the age of the property, very well equipped, bed and sofa very comfortable, The owners were very welcoming showing us around the apartment. Home from home. It is sited in a loverly area of the Country and would recommend it. Thanks for sharing it with us.
This property is one of the best we have stayed in. The accomodation is spacious spread over 3 floors not suitable for people with mobility issues. The hosts are very friendly and hospitable.
Roderick
We enjoyed our week in The Butler's Quarters very much indeed. There was lots to do in the surrounding area and the property was very comfortable. Our hosts couldn't have been more helpful in every way.
We loved it. We were made very welcome. The Butler's Quarters were spacious and comfortable, had the manor house character but the facilities were modern and clean. There is such a variety of things to do and see in the area that we are planning to book again, and I have never rebooked a holiday in my life. Also, Shropshire is much more affordable than the Cotswolds and just as nice! Great days out within a short drive in any direction. Here's what we did Walk up Brown Clee, Shrewsbury including a tour of the Prison, Attingham Park, RAF Cosford, Whitewick House, Bridgnorth town, and West Mids Safari Park.
The Butler's Quarters is a well designed and lovely 'bolt hole' to stay at while in Shropshire. The owners Chris and Kate welcomed us on arrival and gave us a quick lowdown on the area, as well as a tour of the 'quarters' there was even an inclusion of a wellstocked welcome hamper big shoutout to the cake which was well and truly devoured!. The accommodation had all of the amenities you'd need as well as a few more with a big squishy sofa and wonderfully comfortable bed! This was a lastminute booking, and you often run the risk of being disappointed, but we can honestly say we'll be back again. The location is perfect for visiting the surrounding areas, as well as being incredibly peaceful with excellent views for those, like us, who wanted to hunker down for a few days. For a couple in need of some rest, relaxation and the occasional tripwalk, we couldn't recommend The Butler's Quarters more! Thank you Chris and Kate for a lovely holiday
Lovely relaxing and comfortable place to stay full of history Manor house and grounds are beautiful . Great Central area to go in to cities towns villages and walks . Great time Thanks Dave and Debbie

The Butlers Quarters is a beautifully decorated apartment and met all our expectations. It was very clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly need for a self catering break. It is so peaceful and quiet surrounded by lovely countryside. Chris and Kate were the perfect hosts. They gave us a very warm welcome and a much appreciated gift of bread, milk, eggs and cake. The apartment is located centrally for all the things we wanted to do. National Trust properties, old market towns Much Whenlock, Bridgenorth & Ludlow and a visit to David Austin roses.
