Pippin's Place Reviews

A very clean and well presented property with a nice 'welcome tray'. We would be happy to stay there if we return to Shrewsbury. The property is well placed to access the town using the smaller roads and footpaths going the via either the castle or the river is a much more pleasant walk than the direct route along the road under the main railway bridge.

Absolutely spotless! Thoughtfully equipped, comfortable beds and furniture. One of the best places weve stayed in.

This property with its garden and safe parking is a short walk into town with its many independent shops, restaurants and places of interest. It is close to the station and the bus station if you want to have a break from driving or are travelling without a car. The property is very clean and stocked with everything you could need. I was travelling without a dog on this occasion but he would have loved the cool grass in the garden, alongside the patio area with its table, chairs and parasol and he would have loved the river walks and The Quarry park. There are a couple of really minor repairs that need attention but nothing to spoil your stay. There is lots to do in town and lots to visit nearby, either by public transport or car. But equally, the house is lovely for relaxing in, when you need a rest! The area is peaceful with friendly neighbours. The management team give clear instructions and are contactable should you need anything during your stay we didn't but felt they were there if needed. Would highly recommend.

The property was spotless, and within walking distance to Town

Nice house in a quiet area 15 min walk into Shrewsbury. The house was spotless and had everything we needed.

The property is excellent, but a bit further to the shops than we expected. Going to the same property in July.

First impression, very clean and welcoming, with tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolates on arrival. Clear instructions and contact details. Easy to find everything we needed. Great location with station, town, river walk and local attractions all within easy walking distance. Very quiet residential area. Beds were very comfortable. Would definitely book again, there is so much to do in Shrewsbury and surrounding area.

Lovely cottage. Immaculate and a great welcome pack. Good to have parking and a garden. Very quiet area a short walk into town. Hope to return.

Joanne

Exactly what we wanted. Clean, comfortable, quiet and an easy, short walk into town. Allocated parking space was so convenient. We took our dog. There was a dog bed and stair gate provided to stop him wandering upstairs. Wed stay here again.

Lovely house situated within a 15 minute walk of the town centre. Reserved parking situated right outside the front door. The house was spotlessly clean and warm on arrival and throughout our stay. A lovely welcome pack was left by the owner. Comfortable beds and powerful shower. We would certainly return as and when we decide to visit Shrewsbury again

Beverley

We enjoyed our week at lovely Pippins Place. It is a credit to the owners for providing such a warm and welcoming house and to the management team for the cleanliness and freshness. It is a proper home from home in a lovely development and just 10 minutes walk from lovely Shrewsbury.

Clean, comfortable and close to town centre. Ideal for the two of us plus dog to explore the local area.

Daphnr

Overall the cottage was very comfortable and welcoming and ideal quiet location for Shrewsbury and surrounding area. Unfortunately the kettle leaked onto the electric base and work top, the bathroom window is ill fitting and very drafty when windy. Ideally a walkin shower rather than over bath, hence 4stars.

Beautifully appointed terrace house in a quiet court but only a couple of blocks from the railway station. Very convenient to all the attractions of Shrewsbury. We greatly enjoyed our stay.

We absolutely loved Pippin's Place what an amazing place to stay. Very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and in a great location for walking into town. The cottage was perfect for our dog as well, who settled so well and the garden was ideal for him. It was also really nice to have a dedicated parking spot as that can sometimes be an issue with Sykes Cottages. A couple of very minor niggles, which didn't impact our stay but would be good to get sorted. The shower screen needs a little TLC to stop the bathroom floor getting wet, and the front door key was a bit fiddly to get into the lock not sure if the key needs recutting or something. We would not hesitate to recommend staying here. On a par with the nicest Sykes Cottage we've ever stayed in.

Michael

Couldn't fault the house. We wanted somewhere where we could walk into town and this fitted the bill perfectly. We enjoyed car free days and made use of local trains and buses to go further afield. Plugs next to mirrors not every holiday place we stay in thinks of that! If we were to visit Shrewsbury again we wouldn't hesitate to book Pippin's Place. Thank you.

Michael

The house was spotlessly clean. It has its own allocated parking space. Lovely quiet garden which was completely secure for our dog. So much thought and consideration has gone into providing everything you need to make it a home from home. The location was good, only a ten minute walk from the train station and the town. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again in the future.

Jeanette

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others. The house is well furnished, decorated and equipped. It was spotlessly clean. Positioned about a 10 minute walk from the town centre it was ideal to leave the car behind to explore. Thank you for a pleasant holiday.

Another lovely stay at Pippins and wonderful service from caretaker Nikki in getting it ready for my post op convalescence holiday. A brand new kitchen and the well maintained garden are very nice improvements this year. About to book again for next year. Thank you

A compact reasonably well equipped house within reasonable walking distance of the town centre. The bath is however rather narrow and the clothes horse was broken and couldnt be put together in a usable fashion. When using the main bedroom the noise from the boiler in the cupboard is quite noticeable but could be quietened by turning the heating down but fortunately the weather was hot and we didnt need it. Instructions for the appliances would be of assistance. Car parking space was a bonus but using it could be tricky when vans and cars parked opposite. Updated information about bins needs to done as the notice in the kitchen was for last October. Having said all this our weeks stay was good with plenty of places to visit and see.

Suzanne

All perfect except that the garden needs a tidy. We didn't have the weather to sit outside but a good weed is required. However it was suitable for our dog as it combined a grassy area and gravel surface. Otherwise, very well equipped, cosy, comfortable and easy walking distance to Shrewsbury town centre. Would be a good choice if travelling by train as the station is only a short walk away. Newish build in a pleasantly quiet location.

Front step bit high for anyone disabled

Noelle

This accommodation was excellent. The decor was lovely and the size of bed amazing. It was clean and warm.

Thanks for a lovely stay. Welcoming biscuits and message, everything we needed and tastefully decorated.

Alison

We hope to return to Pippin's Place as it was perfect for our trip to Shrewsbury and the surrounding area. We loved the convenience of the allocated parking, the cleanliness and overall comfort of the accommodation and the proximity of the property to the facilities of the town. The property is in a quiet area and had a good range of garden furniture with a BBQ, which would be a bonus in good weather.

Catherine

We loved Pippins. The owners have everything right to make a very comfortable, relaxing holiday house. Exceptionally clean, not cluttered and very nicely furnished, decorated and equipped. Definitely walking distance into lovely Shrewsbury, we did it a few times. Very handy for the railway station as well. We had an excellent stay, thank you.

Lovely cottage in a very quiet street close to the centre of Shrewsbury.

Wonderful well equipped comfortable house with a lovely welcome pack. Close to the town centre and bus and train station which made getting around the area very easy. We had a couple of niggly problems which were dealt with immediately by Nikki and Jay from the service company who did a great job and were very supportive

Stephanie

We stayed for a weekend in Shrewsbury. The house is a 9 minute walk from the station and around 17 minutes from the furthest point in town. On a very nice and incredibly quiet estate. The house was super clean and a pleasant and perfect place to stay. Small garden a boon on a sunny day.

Yvonne

A very clean and welcoming holiday home The hosts left the essentials for us plus biscuits and hot drinks a very nice touch. Very easy to get to town and restaurants etc a very enjoyable short stay thank you

If you like fresh and clean this is the one for you. Close to Shrewsbury......a walk guide to local shop Shrewsbury would help. Front step large drop and mat at front door needs a gripper. Bed extremely comfortable all items in working order. Directions on recycling would help too. Nice clean comfy accommodation thankyou

This was the second time we stayed at Pippin's place whilst visiting Shrewsbury. For two adults and a small dog it was ideal. The bed was comfortable, bathroom clean and sufficient, kitchen was fine considering we ate out most days, the living room was also comfortable and the garden was a good size for sitting in with the dog. The estate itself is surprisingly quiet with a safe footpath leading all the way into town itself in 15 minutes or so. We enjoyed our stay and would probably book this property anytime we visit Shrewsbury.

Great location on a quiet private housing estate well away from main roads. House very comfortable and extremely clean with a lovely selection of biscuits thank you. Tea and coffee also supplied. Beds, bedding and sofa are all we could have wished for. Loopfest was well enjoyed during the bank holiday weekend and we were lucky enough to have the weather to use the BBQ. Garden due to be tidied up soon. Great to have parking outside the front door. Excellent service from the management couple. We will be back.

2 things that could be added Shaver charging point in bathroom & a large towel rail in bathroom. Other than that, the property is great as is the location close enough to walk into Shrewsbury. Really enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend.

Florian

Very nice and clean cottage, well maintained, at walking distance from city centre shops and restaurants. Fully recommend this place, we had a lovely stay

Appreciated the information about places to visit, especially the little book of walks around Shrewsbury. Bins were provided for recycling but there was no information about what could be recycled, as this has been different wherever weve been we were unable to recycle effectively. Also the day the bin men came was listed differently in the key collection information and the in house booklet. We found the house very clean and comfortable however. Thank you.

Fabulous little house, in a perfect location to visit Shrewsbury. 15 minute walk takes you into town. The castle is lovely and in the town centre, very quiet in the grounds. Beds very comfy, and has 2 safety gates to help stop the dog from popping upstairs. Outside courtyard very secure and ideal if you have a pet.

Grenville

Second visit as good as the first. WiFi details need updating on card and Information Book. More information as to what goes in where regarding household waste and recycling. TripAdvisor gave bad ratings for Bamboo House and The Telegraph Vaults, spoke to locals and they recommended them. We found them both very good.

We love Pippins Place and have already rebooted. The standard of cleaning is most impressive.
