Top Farm Cottage Reviews

Beautiful place
Lovely little cottage for me and my dog. Cosy, clean, good facilities to cook, cute, characterful, private parking. Comfy bed and sofa. Pub and shop walking distance. Private paddock to pop the dog around.
There were no instructions on how to use the underfloor heating, and no shaving point in the shower room. The cottage is well equipped and has plenty of storage space.
A bit difficult to find but once we got there the facilities were good and the owners helpful. Lovely place and area for dog owners
Michael
We had a lovely week in top farm cottage ,Peaceful, Relaxing, Owners couldn't do enough for our stay. Nockin is a lovely village and the people to.PS,Especially the Knockin Shop
Jackie
Cosy little cottage, we had an enjoyable stay here. Had everything we needed for a long weekend. We were only left one dishwasher tablet and one toilet roll. The host quickly provided extra dishwasher tablets, but we didn't realise about the toilet roll until late in the evening which was a bit inconvenient. The village pub is handy and has a great beer garden with plenty of shade. Very secure small courtyard to the rear of the cottage and a lovely big field, great for dogs ours loved it! I usually book really out of the way places so I found that there was a bit too much traffic noise at times, saying that we were there over one of the heat wave weekends and had all of the doors and windows open, so it probably wouldn't be as noticeable if the weather were cooler.
Barbara
Would have liked a few cleaning products. Also maybe a radio.
Elaine
We stayed for 3 nights and found the cosy cottage to be very nice and comfortable and would recommend staying there. The milk and biscuits were a lovely addition. Our friendly hosts introduced themselves in passing and were able to recommend a couple of places to dine out in. Shropshire is a lovely part of the country to visit and well be back.
We had a wonderful relaxing break away. Lovely to be met by Margaret and told us everything we needed to know. Plenty of car parking and access. Great to have milk and biscuits waiting for us. Everything was clean and tidy and perfectly stocked. Very cosy and homely. Loved the underfloor heating in the kitchen. So did the dog. Great little secluded courtyard with a table and chairs for our dog to wander around, and us to sunbathe privately. Great that the cottage all on one level for the dog too. TV was excellent through the WIFI as we have at home, and we got all channels we needed and more. More channels than we do at home. Never missed any of our shows. Perfect reception. WIFI reception for our mobiles was perfect. Field and sun house at the back was good to sit in the cool and watch the sunset. Knockin shop convenience store a very short walk away was well stocked and very friendly. The Bradford Arms very welcoming and dog friendly pub easy walk up the road. Perfect easy flat Public Footpath walks all around the village. Enjoyed wandering up to the Shropshire telescope in the field to watch it move or not. Easy driving access to Montgomery Canal and local villages and towns and chip shop. Great coming back to the cottage after a day out. Friends now ready to book. We will return. Highly recommended
Parking is limited and mobile and TV signal is none existent other than. via the BT WiFi provided .. nice location and a decent field for our 4 legged friends. the local shop has a reasonable range of foods available
We had a fantastic relaxing break. The cottage was a perfect getaway for week, with the husband and dog. Kitchen was fully fitted with everything you could need. The bathroom heated floor was nice as was the quality of the towels. The bed was comfortable, with plenty of space for storing clothes coats etc. I can highly recommend this cottage.
William
I spoke to your rep. by phone after our stay & I have nothing to add
Perfect for us and our puppy. Great to have the field for the dog to have a run around.
Great cottage lovely owners
Excellent compact quiet cottage, very well positioned in the village. Plenty of good dog walks locally. Lovely pub short walk away. Friendly owners. Pleasant stay. I would recomend for a one man and his dog type holiday
Gillian
Absolutely lovely cottage, so cosy and comfortable, all fully equipped kitchen, lovely bedroom and bathroom. Ideally located to explore the surrounding areas and into Wales. The biscuits and milk supplied was a extra lovely gesture. Would highly reccomend and hope to be back.
Michael
They advertise a DVD player and there isnt one! Only 6 mugs one of which is chipped. If you have a dishwasher you need more mugs, they are not expensive and it means you only need to put the dishwasher on maybe once every 23 days and save electricity. Was very surprised that there wasnt a j cloth in the kitchen not expensive and it does help with the washing up. A boot scraper by the front door would help as theres no hall to stand in and it will save the front room carpet getting dirty! Also when wiping the kitchen floor on the 3rd day it was black so hadnt been washed properly for some time!
Christine
Delightful cosy cottage very comfortable and spotlessly clean. very well equipped and comfortable bed. Owner very nice and welcoming and the cottage is well placed for visiting area's of Shropshire. We would stay here again
One of the nicest little cottages I have ever stayed in. Every facility and very smartly kept. Situated so conveniently with a shop and pub and regular bus service to Shrewsbury at hand. I intend to visit again in the not too distant future. Chris Bruce
Malcolm
Third stay at the cottage. Always comfortable, clean and tidy. Host's were friendly and helpful as always. Still a great base for relaxing and for seeing the Shropshire & Welsh countryside.
Jackie
My dog spent the first few minutes of our arrival trying to get his nose under the sofa, when I put my hand under to feel what he was after, I could feel crumbs and old food. Underneath the sofa hadn't been cleaned in ages it was filthy. The sofa was very easy to move so it shouldn't have posed a problem We could find no instructions for the dishwasher and, never having owned one, we hadn't got a clue so, since there was no washing up bowl, we had to wash up in the sink. Trouble was the plug didn't fit properly and the water very quickly drained away. We did eventually when we were packing up find the instructions for the microwave, but they were pushed up on the top shelf in the kitchen wall cupboard. The 2 sofas were very tired looking, too soft and quite grubby. The windows what windows there were it was very dark looked as though they hadn't been cleaned all season. The bathroom was so dark it was impossible for my husband to shave and anyway, the shaving mirror was 'floppy' and wouldn't stay where it was put. The flush on the toilet was very short and it never felt as though it wasn't enough to flush it properly. Under the bed was very dusty and one of the knobs on the bedroom drawers kept coming off. There were absolutely no cleaning products, so we were unable to clean anywhere before we left. A bottle of bleach for the toilet and plugholes wouldn't have been a bad idea. There was a Henry hoover but I was damned if I was going to use it and leave the place cleaner than we found it. We'd booked Friday to Friday, but, partly because of the weather but mainly because it just wasn't a nice place to spend our time, we left for home on the Tuesday. On a positive note, the people in the village are all very friendly. The shop seems to stock most things and the bread they sell is wonderful. We ate twice at the pub, staff were lovely and very heplful and it was very reasonable. Both times we were more than happy with our meal although the sprouts were disgusting
Home from home
A lovely comfortable home for the week, very well equipped, very clean and fresh, perfect base for travelling around England and Wales, lovely pub just a couple minutes walk, and a handy convenience store , the only down side to it was we didn't stop for longer, highly recommended especially if you have a dog.
Rosemary
Great cottage, very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Great position for exploring shropshire and over the border into Wales. Highly recommended.
Cottage was lovely very relaxing and comfortable, 1 of the frying pan wasn't very clean
Great place to stay great location. Constructive criticism. The floor covering in the lounge is a definite trip hazard. Unable to sit in the bedroom to get dressed undressed had to use the lounge. Getting rid of the wooden end of the bed would make it easy to sit on the end of the bed.
Excellent place to stay loved every second of it, very quiet spot. Good dog walking paths as well.
Small but perfectly formed. Clean comfy well equipped. Perfect place to stay & explore the area... Lovely pub & shop just down the road..
A really comfortable cottage with everything that I needed. Very clean, good shower, well equiped kitchen, reliable broadband and the enclosed courtyard which was excellent and safe for my dog. Easy parking on a large well maintained site shared with 2 other properties. Pub is conveniently close with a comprehensive menu. Easy access to Welsh boarder, Snowdonia and the coast.
What a fantastic find! A very clean, cosy, very well equipped & comfortable cottage in a wonderful location with very friendly locals. Great walks for humans and dogs. The milk & biscuits were a lovely touch too. We've never been anywhere before that supplied a plethora of cleaning items & equipment...brilliant! Another nice touch was the book filled with information, could do with including refuse details though. We're extremely happy with our stay can't wait to book again, we'll done.
Comfortable and convenient cottage. It would benefit from information on bin days and recycling. A small issue we had with hot water was dealt with lmmediately which was appreciated.
Matthew
This is our second stay at this lovely cottage. Always spotlessly clean and an extremely comfortable bed. Will be back.
Very comfortable cosy cottage that we stayed at for a couple of weeks whilst doing some renovations on our house up the road.
Alison
We had a lovely stay , cottage was lovely had everything you need for a holiday . Thankyou for milk and biscuits on arrival.
Matthew
This was a lovely little cottage. Everything was as described, and we had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable too We had a great time and hope to return soon.
Stephen
Very clean and well equipped with a well stocked local shop a minutes walk away and a decent pub a minute beyond that. Niggles, not a major problem but information about which bin is for what would have been helpful. Also at the risk of sounding tightfisted I don't expect to have to buy toilet roll and cleaning items.
Malcolm
As this was our second time coming here I think it speaks for itself that we are extremely happy with the accommodation. So much so that we have already booked for next year. Can't wait.
Rosemary
Fabulous cottage, we had a wonderful stay. For a small cottage, it was so well equipped and ideally situated. We would definitely return.
Rebecca
Overall really good . Only issue was lack of information regarding recycling. And no instruction for rubbish disposal
