Top Farm House Reviews

Thomas
We had a fantastic long weekend at Top Farm House. Communication with the hosts was excellent and they even picked us up from down the road when we'd taken a wrong turn. The house is fantastic, really well equipped and full of character. We had a lazy weekend in front of the open fire catching up with friends but it would be a great place to spend a week in the summer with great outdoor facilities in a beautiful part of the country.
Wow! The house is stunning. 3 families met up here over new year. The house is very large and suited us down to the ground. Cleanliness was 10 out of 10 Decor is stunning Plenty of off road parking. Every thing you could possibly need is avaliable especially in terms of kitchen utensils. We stay is a lot of houses and this is by far the most stunning. Would not hesitate to recommend this property and the owner is fabulous really friendly and on hand should you need her.
This is a beautiful house. Spacious even for 12 of us, comfortable and full of character. Plenty to do in the area Powis Castle, Pistyll Rhaeadr and walks round Rodney's Pillar. The kitchen was well equipped with electric cooker to supplement the Aga. We enjoyed playing the piano. Plenty of parking space.
Christine
We had a lovely stay at Top Farm house. The property was stunning, clean and very well equipped. Ample parking, very comfortable although the attic room was a challenge for some of the older members of the party but we stuck one of the youngsters up there so not really an issue. Great location for the local pub too!
Excellent place to spend the weekend with family & friends
Rachel
It is a beautiful quirky house that overall we really enjoyed staying in. We had partly chosen the house because it had a piano as we are all friends from the school choir and were hoping to do some singing. Unfortunately, the piano was so out of tune it was almost unplayable. The house was clean apart from an infestation of flying ants in the downstairs toilet which we managed to sweep away on the first night. It was a bit annoying that no dishcloths or scourers were provided for washing up and nobody replied when I texted. Lovely to be in such an old house though.
Beautiful house in a lovely part of the world. Really well equipped, seems the kitchen was thought out by someone who actually cooks! We had a lovely time and would come back
Lianne
The house is old 1642 and incredibly beautiful, full of interesting features and very well appointed. The owner is extremely kind and obliging. She is friendly, cheerful and very helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

I found the website lacking in detail about the property. The property itself was fantastic. The owner met us on arrival, showed us around and explained some things like using the aga. That was very helpful. The property itself was perfect for our family. It was also full of character. The village was good. We used the village shop and had a meal in the pub on the last evening.
Excellent property. Perfect for a large group. A stunning house and very comfortable. Cannot reccomend high enough.
Robert
We loved our stay at Top Farm House. A fabulous character property that is wellequipped and so roomy that it was perfect for our Christmas week family stay, and easily accommodated visits from local extended family. Thanks you so much for decorating for Christmas, that added to our enjoyment.
Beautiful house, well presented. Great facilities and plenty of room
Christopher
We loved the cottage in every way. Place was really well equipped. Well presented and help us have an amazing weekend.
Russell
A most enjoyable stay at a wonderful old building, this was a great place for a group of friends to meet up in a central part of the country. With a local shop and pub just a few minutes walk, the location was ideal for what we were looking for. The owners were friendly and helpful, and we had everything we needed for a memorable get together.
Brillliant everything we wanted and hoped for.
Fantastic house in a great location. It was excellent value for money. would 100 stay again!
A characterful house, which was beautifully furnished, well equipped, comfortable and clean. The friendly owners welcomed us and were easily contactable during our stay. Our family of 12, spanning three generations greatly enjoyed spending time together in such a lovely house, especially the evenings together around the large dining table! Knockin is a pleasant village and the local people helpful. Though in a rural location, the road through the village was busy at times with agricultural traffic. This did not affect our enjoyment of the house and garden, however. Thank you for the warning about the original steep and polished staircase to the first floor. With handrails on each side and taking care, this did not present a problem for the ablebodied elderly members of our party. All in all, a wonderful week!
Nathan
Fantastic house and facilities. The house is beautiful, large and great for a big group. We had 3 families staying together and had plenty of room. The kitchen is really well stocked with the right size and quantity of equipment, pans, cutely, crockery etc. everything very clean, plenty of towels etc.
Hilary
A wonderful house for our family reunion. We loved the ancient beams, sloping floors, together with the comforts of modern facilities and cosy wood burners . Thank you for this lovely home.
The property was lovely and we really enjoyed our stay.
We rented the cottage for a big family get together and it was perfect! It was spotlessly clean and incredibly well equipped. The house is full of charm and the 3 generations of my family loved it. The owners were incredibly kind and helpful and helped to make the weekend really special.
We all commented on how well equipped the house was everything we needed and more. It was spotlessly clean and as hosts your were really helpful. We would recommend this to other people.
Margaret and her husband were very hospitable and went out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed our Christmascum Birthday stay. We enjoyed the quirkiness and character of the cottage sitting around the log fires and preparing Christmas dinner over the aga. It is somewhere we would consider again for a large party gathering. Thank you, both!
Carissa
We had an AMAZING stay at Top Farm House! The photos really do not do it justice! The owners were amazing and very kindly unpacked our food delivery when it arrived before we did! There is a lot to do locally and we had some great lunches at the local pubs, overall it was a fantastic stay!
Isobel
Lovely house full of games and all the things you could ever need in the kitchen. Comfortable, clean and perfect for large family gatherings.
A lovely house with plenty of space and lots to entertain. Owners were very helpful and welcoming.
Charlotte
Top Farm House was absolutely perfect, couldn't fault anything about it!
Extremely comfortable beds It was a wonderfully wellequipped kitchen Welcome groceries in the kitchen were greatly appreciated Games, books etc were just right for a family of different ages. We loved the house
We enjoyed our stay at Top Farm House enormously. The owners, Bob and Margaret, could not have been more helpful in making our stay a memorable one. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The house is very well furnished and a great deal of thought has gone into each room. It is an old house full of nooks and crannies and very interesting for our younger grandchildren who enjoyed exploring both the house and the very large gardens. We tend to go somewhere different each year but should we return to Shopshire we should be happy to return to Top Farm House.
Lovely house, photos dont do it justice really well equipped, very large rooms and beautiful bedding and bedrooms. Excellent kitchen. Just pods of space for 13 of us!
