Rectory Cottage Reviews

The cottage was fantastic. We had a lovely stay. Well equipped with comfy beds. Rural village setting with a handy pub and shop a short walk away. Brilliant host, nothing was too much trouble. Recommend a trip to the ironworks which is only a couple of miles away. Highly recommended.
Very nice cottage but be aware the stairs to get upstairs is very steep and, no toilet facilities up stairs which can be a bit of a pain if you need to go during the night, Kitchen is a bit on the small side not enough cupboards. lovely shower room the village is very nice with a pub near by The Punch Bowel or about a mile away is the Queens head very nice food not cheap but very goog
Exactly as described and the owner was very helpful at all times,
Cherril
We spent a week at this very comfortable cosy cottage in a peaceful village with lovely walks in the area and plenty of places to visit. There was everything we needed and a few thoughtful gifts from the owners. It's dog friendly but the garden was not entirely enclosed so had to take our dog out on the lead. The bedroom was large with a very comfortable superking size bed. The only issue is, in my opinion, is that there really needs to be a small handrail at the very top of the staircase as there's nothing to hold onto as you come out of the bedrooms straight onto the stairs. We had a lovely time staying here and would thoroughly recommend it. Thank you
Jackie
A lovely cottage in beautiful area. Spotlessly clean with everything we needed for our stay. Very helpful hosts. We would definitely visit again.
Really enjoyed our stay. Neil and Jo were the perfect hosts.
Neil and Jo are wonderful hosts and nothing is too much trouble. They are there if you need anything, but give you total privacy as well. Rectory cottage is so lovely and peaceful. The furnishings are gorgeous and the surroundings ideal for getting away from it all and indulging in nature and a more restful life. Thank you Neil and Jo.for a.wonderful three weeks in your fantastic property. Paul and Glyn
Robert
This is such a beautiful property. It was super cosy given it was so cold out especially coming from a warmer climate the cottage was lovely and warm. The extra touches like the welcome basket and the beautiful christmas tree were really thoughtful it really added to our christmas stay. This is our second visit and we can't fault it in any way. The beds are really comfortable. Amazing hosts thank you for another wonderful stay
Great place to stay in a beautiful village
Lovely people, lovely cottage, thank you from all of us
Robert
Well situated with shop and pub in easy walking distance. Easy access to A5. Comfortable accommodation with everything we needed. The local pub only serves meals on Sunday, but within a mile there is the Queens Head at Queens head which serves high quality food all week.
Jonathan
On the whole an excellent property, could do with a chair in the larger bedroom, a non slip mat in the shower and a few hooks to hang coats etc. Very cosy.
Jacqueline
Owner was fantastic, very welcoming and friendly. The property was beautiful, highly recommended
Sharon

Gareth
Wonderful place to stay, cosy, clean, peaceful, a very pleasant place to stay, weather a bit disappointing, but on the whole fantastic. We would not hesitate to return in the future. G.A.
Amanda
We were pleasantly surprised to be welcomed with gifts of bread, cava, and milk from the owners how lovely! The cottage is beautifully furnished and the guest towels were soft and fluffy. The cooking facilities were great and everything you needed for making meals. The village is beautiful and perfect for dog walking. The only negatives were a lack of gatesfence to keep our little dogs from straying into owners garden and driveway and the very steep staircase maybe another rail on wall side please. Otherwise it was a fab experience.
We had a lovely stay in the cottage. Everything was immaculate when we arrived and with some nice complementary treats. The cottage was the ideal size for four we came with our adultsized teenagers. The facilities were great, the good WiFi and a TV better than ours at home meant we had happy teens. It is in a great position, we enjoyed exploring North Wales, local National Trust properties, Chester and local walks.

Rectory Cottage is a little gem in the peaceful, friendly village of West Felton. It was cosy, comfortable and clean, with everything you would require for a wonderful holiday. The owner, Jo, who lives next to the cottage went out of her way to ensure my wife and I and our border collie had a very enjoyable stay. The welcome pack was one of the best we've had with Sykes Cottages. The local pub Sunday carvery and the shop open 7.30 am to 10pm, every day were only ten minutes walk and the supermarkets were four miles away in Oswestry. There were plenty of places nearby to walk our dog. The cottage was a perfect base to visit Shropshire and NE Wales. A thoroughly enjoyable stay. Thank you Jo.
Great property in a good location. Well equipped kitchen and relaxing outside seating area. Friendly and helpful owners.
The property is situated in a great area for walking and exploring. The cottage is situated on a country lane which had very little traffic a very quiet area. However the cottage is within easy access of the A5 making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The cottage is well appointed and the owner is friendly and helpful. A great holiday
Beautiful cottage and lovely owners! Left us with some welcome treats as well and had a folder prepared for local dog walks as well which we did and they were fantastic! The cottage was gorgeous and extremely well presented! Couldn't recommend the area, the cottage and the owners enough to others!! Thank you so much
Lovely cottage . Had a lovely stay
Lovely property, great bedroom pillows, we are buying some for home, bathroom is lovely. The only thing that could make this better is maybe a doormat on the inside of doors. Will definitely stay here again if it is available. Thanks again Ian
Robert
The cottage was very well situated in a lovely quiet village and the owners had left us a nice little welcome pack on arrival. The cottage is well situated to visit nearby attractions and towns of which I would recommend a visit to nearby Ironwork centre.
Joanne
The property was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Jo was brilliant when we had a minor issue, she sorted it straight away and kept me updated throughout the day. There is parking for two cars but one would be better as it is a bit tight. The stairs are quite steep, so probably not suitable for people with mobility issues. I would recommend Rectory Cottage though, we had a lovely stay.
We enjoyed a fantastic stay in a lovely, clean, modern cottage. Thank you so much for our little welcome pack, very much appreciated after a long journey. The cottage is within walking distance of the local pub and close to the Montgomery Canal. Would definitely stay here again.
The owner had put a lovely Xmas tree in corner. Very welcome as was welcome pack. Warm and comfortable. Local walks and pubs great.
A very comfortable holiday cottage in a quiet rural location. A pub and shop only an 8 minute walk and there are some good walks around the area. All facilities are included and a nice welcome pack.
Gillian
Lovely cottage. Very clean and tidy. Would certainly recommend
Barbara
The cottage was lovely. Warm and clean and comfortable. With a generous welcome pack. It has a brand new kitchen which is very well equipped. The owners were lovely and very helpful. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short because my friend who has dementia wasnt safe on the stairs, particularly coming out of the bedroom onto the landing. The owners have said they are going to put a handrail in that area.

Such a stunning property super comfortable beds lots of space for our family of 4. We didn't find the stairs an issue our kids are 11 and 6. The cottage has had an upgrade compared to the listing on Sykes. The kitchen has been redone and has everything you could possibly need. At the back there is also a door leading to a lovely secluded patio area. We had a lovely two weeks stay and would definitely return again. Fantastic hosts thankyou both for the lovely welcome basket it was very thoughtful!
Lovely cottage, fitted out and furnished to a very high standard. Only note of caution the stairs are steep and may be not suitable for young children or those with mobility issues, although we're not the youngest and managed OK. Great location for touring around North Shropshire and surrounding areas. Would definitely stay here again if visiting the area.
Samantha
