This was our third stay at Hendre, and we loved it even more than our previous visits. Ursula is incredibly friendly and welcoming, popping down on our first evening after we had checked in to ensure everything was well. We were very grateful for the lovely homemade cake and bottle of bubbly left for us! The property is delightful, from the beautiful, private lake full of wildlife to the wellappointed, clean, and comfy interior. The beds are very comfortable, the smart TV great, the kitchen wellequipped, the internet reliable, and the large fireplace welcomingwe appreciated the generous supply of logs to get us started. The area is lovely and quiet, with nice walks in the immediate vicinity including down to the nearby river. The local village, featuring a small shop and a pub, is only a short walk away, but you still feel as though youre in the middle of nowhere. We were lucky enough to see some military aircraft overhead, and the night sky is wonderfully dark, offering spectacular views of the Milky Way. We had a groceries and DPD delivery during our stay with no issues. We love Hendre, and well definitely be back soon.
Superb cottage, so peaceful, lovely views over the lake. We found plenty to do, even though this lovely part of Wales is a little off the beaten track.

The accommodation was lovely. Extremely clean and welcoming. The views from the kitchen of the lake and wildlife were great. Ursula and Ela were so friendly and local if you need anything. Lovely having a log burner and the aga made it cosy and warm. We would love to come back in the spring to see a different selection of birdlife on the lake.

Hendre is a clean, well maintained, comfortable property that has everything you need for the perfect holiday. The property is in a beautiful, peaceful and private position, with the only other visable property being the owners farm, some distance away. The owner, Ursula, is a lovely, bubbly, helpful person who will do everything to ensure you have a good holiday. In a good location for visiting nearby attractions. Highly recommended, we hope to visit again soon.

A 2nd visit to Hendre as it is our 'Tranquil' Place. Ursula met us at the cottage and there was welcome gift of Prosecco and home made cakes. Cottage fully equipped with everything you could ever want. View from the cottage to the mountains in the distance and the lake at the forefront what more could you want. We have definitely recharged our batteries and will look to return again in the future.
We've given 4 stars but that's not completely fair. We booked for 2 weeks and the 2nd week was phenomenal all down to the weather!!! Hendre is stunning, peaceful and beautiful so beautiful that the delivery man wanted to marry me till he realised I was only on holiday hee hee. Hubby isn't tremendously mobile I'm not great either so to be confined knowing that you can't get out of the rain quickly enough was a body blow although we settled down and made the best of a bad job. Week 2 sun shone and we felt the heat on our shoulders amazing!! Laughed, loved ate and drank our fill too much actually and blossomed wiping away the winter blues. Thank you Ursula, you gave us 2 weeks of totally different memories to wallow in through the long lonely nights which come to us all xxxxxxxxxxxx
Sheila
The property was spotlessly clean, well equipped and had everything you could possibly need for an excellent holiday. Ursula was a friendly hostess and the prosecco and tiffin she provided was a lovely touch. The Tanat valley is really beautiful and as nice as anywhere I had been in Wales. As a birdwatcher and wildlife lover, the lake and surrounding quiet lanes gave me a lot of pleasure. I would highly recommend Hendre.
Well maintained bungalow with a friendly and helpful owner. It was relaxing and a good base to explore the beautiful area.
Stephen
We have had a lovely week and feel totally relaxed. It is a great location for visiting the beautiful Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall and lake Vyrnwy. Barmouth is a little over an hour away and well Worth the trip. The Railway Inn is a mile away back down the lane, where the locals are very friendly and a good source of information on the local area and things to see and do. If you like the quieter things in life this is the place to be.
Claire

Hendre Is the perfect antidote to the stress of city life. It is exactly what we needed, and we thoroughly recommend it to anyone. Ursula and Huw made us feel at home and you can count on them for anything you need. Thanks to them both and we hope to be able to come back soon.
A birders Paradise, We stayed at Hendre for 2 weeks and cant wait to go back, the birds in the garden was simply amazing, Dabchicks in the lake, Siskins, Redpolls, Great spotted Woodpeckers on the feeders, we had to keep filling the feeders up because the amount of birds was unbelievable, Red kites and buzzards everywhere in fact if i lived there i would have a Raptor bird table as well, also in the garden was Willow Warblers, Chiffchaffs, , Sand martins, House martins ,Swallows, Goosanders, In the surrounding area we seen Hen Harriers Male and female nearly every day, Goshawk, Sparrow hawks, Tree pipits, Skylarks, Bullfinch, we couldn't find Ring Ouzel or Merlin but they are in the area and we were a bit early for the Ring Ouzels. The Railway pub is a short walk away across a bridge over the River Tanat and then across a field and does excellent food including Vegan also the local shop is very good as well, it was a bit chilly on a nighttime but the Log fire kept us so cozy, we would sit there watching the Bats flying outside the windows. Thanks to Ursula and her family for making our holiday so special, Mark and Emma.
Problem contacting owner due to no mobile signal available. But everything else was first class.
Stuart
Fantastic stay in a great place. With both me and ma dad having mobility problems the owner was fantastic in helping us settle in including unload the car for us. Can not fault the place, lovely garden and views, very comfy and big beds. nice kitchen. 1010.

Met by the owner and showed around . This is far better than a keysafe collection for the keys. Property was spotless and comfortable. Perfect place for a peaceful break. Owner was very friendly and helpful throughout. All facilities were used apart from the outside bbq. Left Hendre fully rejuvenated after our stay .
Christine
Lovely cottage with spectacular views. Ursula and Elle have gone to great lengths to furnish and equip Hendre thus ensuring a home from home.
Jorge Ivan
We had a wonderful holiday time, the place is amazing and very clean with beautiful views. Many things to do around the area. We felt very welcome by Ursula the owner. Definitely we'll come back for our next holidays. I highly recommend this place!
Doreen
Such a relaxing holiday, well equipped property in an amazing location. Loads of places in the area to visit and then there was the wildlife to watch in the evening as we looked out over the lake to the mountains beyond. Would definetly recommend and would not hesitate to return again. Ursula was very welcoming and helpful and the welcome gift of home made cakes and Prosecco was a lovely touch.
A brilliant place with outstanding views over the lake, plenty of bird life, little grebe, moorhen , kingfisher, buzzards etc, saw the tiny frog migration hundreds of minute froglets making their first trek onto land. A truly magical place of peace and tranquillity.
