Bryn Teg Reviews

William
Lovely bungalow, plenty of outdoor space and great views all around, hot tub big ... Lovely bungalow, plenty of outdoor space and great views all around, hot tub big and great for star gazing while having a dip will definitely book again
Nice bungalow in need of a makeover, mattresses need changing, settees need changing and need to sort mold out in end bedroom. Wouldve been nice to have had sky sports in property. Our party of 6 have had a lovely time over new year, and it was nice that mince pies milk and a bottle of Prosecco were left for us, also the entrance to the rear of the property was just about accessible for our motor, but our friends had to park their motor on the house 2 doors up drive which he was really grateful for. Could also do with lighting by hot tub as the light on corner of games room wasnt working.

Bryn teg was a fab holiday for mine & partners birthdays. We stayed for a week and pretty much had everything we needed. On first arrival the mountain views straight away were amazing. We did alot of exploring whilst our stay and relaxed in the hot tub star gazing of an evening. Would absolutely recommend staying here. Although we didnt meet the owners everything was easy and such a beautiful stay!
Patrick
Excellent place to stay , perfect to switch off and unwind if you want a relaxing break
We arrived to a very clean and tidy bungalow the property is large on the inside with large and airy windows plus a large conservatory to enjoy on the few suny days we had. The kitchen was very well equipped with all the apliances you expect from a quality property a bottle of milk and wine was in the fridge for our arrival. The outside space was enorgmous lots of different garden spaces plus a large field for the dogs to chase the many grouse that feed in the fields. The hot tub was a great addition it was ready to go nice and hot. The views from the bungalow and the garden are outstanding amazing valey location. The village was easy to explore with a few public paths through some open fields. I did struggle with the narrow entrance to the bungalow so we used the other parking space at the lower garden which I managed each time the short drive up the lane to the bungalow is badly beaten up but I just took my time.

Lovely time at Bryn Teg. ....so lovely and comfortable. Cleanliness was superb, all we needed was there plus more. Hot tub was fabulous a really great luxury . Photos of the property and its gardens etc really did not do this property justice...its so so much better in person. Would recommend this to everyone and will definitely be booking again. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
This was our 5th stay and was just as perfect as every other time we have been. Owner always helpfull just send a message. Hot tub spotlessly clean the views are breathtaking. Amazing property for the doggys or kiddys to play out side and be safe. Kitchen has everything you need in it including a big fridge freezer, and air fryer. 3 x Bedrooms all spotlessly clean beds are comfortable. Nothing i could complain about highly recommended to anyone.

Lovely week spent at Bryn Teg. The views are amazing especially from the conservatory. Dogs especially enjoyed their own private safe field for morning zoomies. Be aware the lane to approach the cottage very uneven and entrance into property a little awkward.

This is our 3rd time staying at Bryn Teg and won't be our last. We had a mixture of adults, infants and dogs and it really is the perfect for everyone. The owners have made this a lovely home away from home with everything you may need. We cannot fault a single thing and look forward to our next stay.
Lovely property in stunning location We had an amazing time as did our doggies
The cottage is in a lovely location and was clean and tidy. I had read a couple of negative reviews about the shower pressure and chose to ignore it but unfortunately the previous reviews were correct and the shower was not good. It took the edge of our stay. Also I was concerned about the lack of lighting around the hot tub which I felt could possibly cause someone to trip over the gap at the side of the hot tub. Finally, as I had booked the cottage specifically for the enclosed field for my dog, I was really disappointed we were asked to keep the gate open so i was unable to let her run around freely. Please can it be made very clear about how tight it is to drive a vehicle down the driveway into the garden as this was quite stressful trying not to damage the car or the property!
Steven
Absolutely amazing place with everything needed and the most stunning views. An absolute credit to the owners. We definitely will be returning. We was a party of 6 adults and 1 doggie and everybody was of same opinion. Steve, Kristy & the Gang.
Nadana
The property was amazing, stunning views and a lot larger than the pictures show. The enclosed field was perfect for the dog and sunbathing and the hot tub was a lovely way to unwind. On the colder nights, the log fire in the living room was welcoming. The only thing that lets the property down is the low water pressure from the shower but it definitely doesnt impact on this beautiful property.
Great stay, amazing scenery, made the mistake of trying to get my car through the second gate. . Oops... Managed in the end and used the correct one after that. Myself, the kids and dogs had a great time.. Has everything we could possibly need. Thanks for the hot cross buns and the wine. Will definitely recommend and return
Rachel
Wow what a beautiful place. Everything that you would need and more in a holiday cottage. The dogs and my daughter loved the field and the games in the summer house. Views are amazing to wake up to every morning what ever the weather. The hot tub speaks for itself after a long day walking such a lovely place to relax. A lovely touch was that toothbrushes and toothpaste both brand new and unopened were left in the bathroom incase you forgot them. The wine, hot cross buns and the chocolate Easter egg were a lovely touch for when you arrive. The pub the new inn down the village was lovely food was great and landlord was lovely and chatty. The shop 2 miles away has everything you would need if you forgot anything. Honestly such a lovely place. The track up to the cottage is very bumpy but not a lot of different from a lot of uk roads! Only thing I would say is that the toilets seats are too small for the toilet so can move when sat on them. Would recommend to anyone who wanted a break to wales.
Thank you welcome pack. We had a great stay, although 2 and their dog couldn't make it, there would still of been plenty of room for 6 a dog. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of draw and hanging space, between the rooms. The parking is abit tricky, but by going up the road turning around and reversing in the driveway I got my 5 metre long Insignia estate down ok. We used the hot tub every day, warm quiet and relaxing, The football table was missing a ball, but after a text we had one delivered a couple of hours later, then it was used competitively by 4 big kids, with seating to play board games we chilled in there. Kitchen was well equipped with plenty of cutlery and crockery, which meant you still could eat and drink while the dish washer was on, unlike some. Lovely views from all the rooms. All in all we had a relaxing stay, just what we needed.

This place is just absolutely wonderful. The owners, who live a short distance away, are so helpful and lovely, nothing is too much trouble. This has been our second visit to Bryn Teg and it won't be our last.
Melanie
Lovely , welcoming place. We found it to be clean, well equipped, comfortable, and cosy. Stunning views from every where. Tasteful Christmas decorations and treats helped make a peaceful and happy Christmas. Loved the paddock, our dog greatly enjoyed playing fetch as did the two black sheep who watched this daily ritual from their neighbouring field. They were very intrigued by the ball throwing. Hot tub was a extra treat, nice and relaxing watching the stars and listening to the owls. Highly recommended.
Jonathan
Fantastic bungalow and amazing location loved it
A beautiful place to stay in a very picturesque area. Great views and lovely and quiet. Very great bungalow with great amenities, washer dryer, dish washer, air fryer and of course the hot tub. The field at the side of the house was great for the dog and the children. And very comfortable beds. Thank you

Your website shows 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Where were 2 bathrooms hiding? We had a shower room and a cloakroom with a washbasin and toilet. Even counting the cloakroom as a bathroom that makes 2. Surely you are not counting the hot tub as one?? We recommend avoiding Bryn Teg as their website is inaccurate and disappointing for the 5 adults in our group who had to share 1 shower. We contacted Sykes Cottages re this and had no satisfaction. They did not even return our calls. The hob is underpowered and the electric shower has very low pressure. The redeeming feature was the hot tub.
Fenella
Bryn Teg is just wonderful coupled with the best hosts , what is not to love? There isn't three bathrooms unless you want to class the gorgeous hot tub as one. Everything there is just what anyone needs if you need a base to explore the beauty of the Berwyns or just want a peaceful holiday.
Our second time here, equally enjoyable as the first. Accommodation clean and comfortable as before. Added a washing machine and an air fryer since our last visit. Stunning scenery and an air fryer... What more do you want
Denise
A lovely home from home. Big enough for our family holiday which consisted of 4 adults, 2 children & 2 dogs. Lovely walks from the doorstep. The hot tub was great as was the HUGE field where the dogs ran wild. Would stay here again if going to this area.
Andrea
Bryn Teg is a stunning property. It has a very homely feel and with the secure field attached that our dog loved, it was the perfect base for our party of 5. Its spacious, the views are stunning and the hot tub is the perfect place to relax. It has everything you need for a holiday. As previous reviews have said, the lane to reach the roperty is very uneven, but you only have to go a short way up it to reach the bungalow.. The entrance to the main parkong area is accessed by a drive at the side of the house. Reviews have said this is verry narrow, we drive a mondeo and although having to be a bit cautious, our car fitted down this driveway. If you are not confident to do this there is a parkong space at the bottom of the garden. I would definotely stay at Bryn Teg again and would recommend it to family and friends. .
Bryn Teg had everything we could possibly need to enjoy our holiday and Eldrydd and Kevin were excellent hosts. The property was spotless and furnished to a very high standard the air fryer and the recent addition of the washing machine were appreciated . The hot tub was a relaxing spot to enjoy the panoramic countryside views and the field adjacent to the property was ideal for our dog to enjoy running around in a safe space. With it's central location Bryn Teg not only provided us with a peaceful retreat but enabled us to explore areas of North Wales that we'd never visited before.
The cottage and grounds are amazing. The hot tub is huge and ideally situated. The view from the conservatory is amazing. Very relaxing place to spend a week.
Very nice place hot tub was amazing the views are beautiful, disappointed no pool table as stated .
Lizzie
Bryn Teg is the perfect place for peace and quiet but on the doorstep for visiting all the beautiful places in Mid Wales. Barmouth, Bala Lake, Llansantffraid. Everything inthe bungalow was like home from home and owners are especially thoughtful. I was very pleased to see the addition of a washing machine as we used this to wash grandson's bedding and clothes. The field was perfect for him to go exploring and the jacuzzi a treat for us. This was our 5th visit and can well recommend and hope to be back again.
Lovely bungalow with stunning mountain views. Location is excellent for exploring. The access to the parking at the rear is extremely narrow and difficult to negotiate but there is alternative parking below which is fine. Suggest you flag up the alternative in the blurb! The owner was wonderfully helpful and can't be praised too highly.
What a beautiful place had the most loveliest 4 days. Has everything we needed. Not one thing bad to add.
Pros Outstanding scenery and location. Modern decor Spacious accommodation Comfy beds and lots of bedroom storage Owners friendly to deal with via text Cons No where in the garden or paddock is secure at all for small dogs, we had to put her on her harness and lead and go out with her every time she needed to go to the toilet. This was very inconvenient, especially as Id phoned Sykes specifically to ask about this and been told it was secure. The driveway is very narrow to get in no mention of this in the listing. We have a VW Golf and it was tight for us. Larger vehicles would really struggle. The majority of the house was clean sinks, floors, furniture etc but small areas have been neglected skirting boards dirty, corners of bathroom dirty, black mould in the shower. The electric shower pressure is very very low. Only one double plug socket with small extension lead in master bedroom, and it wasnt near the mirror for drying hair etc. We had to order a 5m extension lead off Amazon. Only one toilet roll provided in each bathroom, had to buy own extras after that. Also no kitchen roll provided. The front of the hob was damaged has a small jagged chunk out the front, potential injury hazard. Conservatory interior door handle was broken off and just left on the side step daughter got trapped inside twice. External front door, conservatory exterior door and bathroom window all need adjusting difficult to shut operate. Being picky just so owners can improve issues so future guests are aware before they book.
I stayed here with friends to celebrate my 30th birthday. Had an absolute blast. The accommodation was very welcoming, clean and cosy with the lovely log burner. Hot tub was great at night time, lovely and hot and watching the stars. The views are amazing. Definitely going to go back!!
Over all cottage was nice, parking is tight as mentioned, we have a kia sportarge and was tight to fit. Cottage inside is nice, but lack of washing machine is a big let down, and should be one there. Floor in kitchen needs looking at as gaps in laminate. Overall nice stay just needs some tweeking and it's items and would be amazing
Samantha
This is our 2nd visit to Bryn Teg and we will definitely visit again. The cottage is beautiful, clean and spacious. The enclosed field is perfect for our dog and there are gorgeous views all around. We stayed with twin 1 year olds and it was perfect for them too. The cottage is near to local attractions and we enjoyed a day at the waterfalls and Bala. Kevin and Eldrydd are very helpful and the finish touches they leave around the cottage are very thoughtful.
Excellent accommodation, beautiful setting. Only downfall was only 1 shower available
A really lovely property that completely met our expectations. A great location with beautiful views. The owners had also left really useful information alongside some very thoughtful welcome gifts.
William
Beautiful views from the bungalow, and it is in a stunning position. Generally well equipped and the field and the hot tub were real bonuses. We were a little disappointed there was no washing machine or, more importantly, a drier. The weather was wet every day and with two dogs to dry and our wet walking clothes it was a struggle to get everything dry. We were just two people and a family of 4 or 6 would find it impossible. The other thing we would have appreciated was a duvet and a duvet cover that were the same size a superking cover on a king duvet is just very irritating!
