Ty Gwyn Reviews

Gillian
We had a lovely half term break here and it was in a great location for privacy but also not too far from attractions. We went on a steam train ride one day and visited Shrewsbury prison another. Shrewsburys a lovely place and the prison visit was enjoyed by all. The hot tub was lovely although, as there was a heatwave the whole time we stayed, a source of shade whilst in the hot tub wouldve been much appreciated. The hot tub gets the full sunshine for pretty much the whole day which was lovely towards the end of the day but at its highest point the heat was too much. The views were lovely and the actual facilities were more than adequate. Couple of things could do with bring replaced in the house such as one of the sofas has a noticeable dip when you sit in it the inside material has been well worn but nothing that impacted the holiday or our stay. The accommodation was clean and the Welsh cakes were a lovely touch. Please note if driving nothing to do with Sykes or the owners but when driving up the road to the accommodation, there are two bad potholes on the way and another two very deep potholes next to each other further up. The problem is they are on a slight brow as it is an uphill road so they are not really visible until youre on top of them .. or in our case, wheels deep in them they are sizeable and caused some damage to our car. We found locals knew the trick to avoid falling in to them and so we needed to carefully position the car with one of the potholes under it and drive over slowly without falling in to the other one. We would definitely stay again though and would certainly recommend here for some quality time with friends or family.
What a lovely stay we had at Ty Gwyn, on arrival a secured gated driveway was present & lots of lambs & sheep in secured fields amongst the property. The Cottage was spacious, has everything you needed to stay for a well deserved break. The outside space was fantastic with the key feature of the Hot Tub whilst admiring the Lambs & stunning scenery. Met up with the Owner who was tending to his Lambs on his Quad bike, very warm , friendly which was an extra nice touch . Overall a smashing place to stay to relax, take a breath & enjoy the scenery.
Lovely property tucked away in the middle of nowhere with the most amazing rural views you can ask for! A hot tub that you can sink into and relax over looking rolling country fields. Furniture was in need of an update and the kitchen lacked a lot of basic requirements.

Second visit so cosy and warm! With the perfect setting and scenery!
We had a lovely stay with the family, the location is perfect, very calm and quite place with great views and the forest in walking distance, the tube and stove were must in our vacation and we really enjoyed it. Thank you!

Sophie
We had a lovely couple of days. The children loved the hot tub. We had a problem with the temperature but hosts were with us to sort it within 20 mins. We did the local forest walk as recommended. We didnt think the locals in the nearest town were very friendly and would recommend pubs grub in Welshpool rather than closest. A quiet and tranquil area. Book it if you want peace, tranquility and comfort. Xxx
A spotless rural Welsh cottage as described by Sykes. Very warm & spacious with good dog exercise area. Hot tub was exceptionally clean & warm. Lovely host. Sykes was a nightmare to contact...!
This was a well kept beautiful cottage. It was cosy and really clean. Bedding and towels was nice and fresh They had everything thing that you needed and loved the fire and firewood. The hot tub was freshly cleaned. Loved how comfortable we all felt it was home from home and lovely and quiet. We loved hearing the cows and sheep
Lovely cottage in an idyllic position! We enjoyed a most relaxing week at Ty Gwyn and would recommend it to those looking for a peaceful break amongst lovely rolling countryside. Luckily we had a fantastic weeks weather for September and made good use of both the hot tub and large front garden space, perfect

Absolutely brilliant stay, peaceful, relaxing and private exactly what is described and exactly what we needed. . what a lovely cottage.. wish we could of stayed longer.. we will definitely be back. Thanks so much.
We loved this cottage. It was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we could need. So peaceful, no traffic noise at all. It was lovely to sit in the hot tub and watch the red kite circling overhead. The highlight for us having the cows in the field that surround the garden we made friends with them all. We will miss the random sheep that appeared on the driveway, I hope it eventually got back to the flock.
Lovely cottage with everything we needed supplied. Really enjoyed the hot tub. Hope to return again.
Chelsea

Stacey
Beautiful cottage! Had everything we needed and more. The views were incredible and we were lucky enough to get lovely weather at the start of spring. The sheep and little lambs kept us occupied for hours. Star gazing at night from the hot tub was a wonderful surprise and we made the most of the fire during the evenings. We will definitely be back!

A lovely cottage in the countryside within easy reach of Welshpool. A great place to relax, use the hot tub or cosy up by the wood burning stove.
Absolutely stunning place to stay. There wasn't anything that hadn't been thought of. The property was clean throughout, with outstanding views. The bed was comfortable, the sofa and chairs were great, and the place felt like home, so much so, that we didn't want to leave. We hope to return soon. Thank you for a perfect holiday
We absolutely loved Ty Gwyn, it was the perfect holiday. The owners happily got some balloons blown up, which I had sent them as it was our wedding anniversary. It was a lovely surprise for my husband. The property is amazing beautiful countryside views, quiet and peaceful, wood burning fire, great Tv and internet, well equipped kitchen and of course the hot tub. A dream. We had snow the week we went which made it more special and beautiful. This meant I was able to do my first snow wild swim, so exhilarating! I wild swim in cold water all year round but this was the first to have it snowing. We will definitely return and we cant wait. Thank w

Me & my partner came here with our 2 year old son & our dog & it was just what we wanted. A lovely cozy cottage for a relaxing week away. The hottub & log fire were great to get warm & cozy on those colder evenings. Having a huge field right outside was perfect to take our dog around & throw his ball. Our 2 year old loved the place too & said he wanted to stay here forever. Very happy with our stay & would highly recommend. Thanks
The cottage was lovely, comfortable, cosy, warm and well equipped. It was great that we had a field for our dog to run around in. The hot tub was a luxury. Beds comfortable and kitchen well equipped. The owners were attentive, helpful and friendly. Very many thanks!
Hannah

It was delightful to hire accommodation that was exactly as presented in the photos on line. The owners were so helpful when we oldies 84years old couldn't work out the Freesat box.

Property was very nice inside. Beds fairly comfortable. Having two smart TVs with Netflix was a bonus. The hot tub was bliss. If you had any problems Tom, Margaret, Stefan and Rosie were on hand to help. Our car broke down and their help was invaluable.
An absolutely peaceful location. The house itself is very good as are the facilities. The hot tub was lovely. On a clear night just great for star gazing and destressing.
Madalina
It was fenomenal
We had a fabulous stay but would have liked another set of towels. Perhaps two for using when using the jacuzzi. Otherwise fantastic.
Amazing weekend stay. Everything was thought of. Beautiful location and so peaceful. Just what we all needed. We will defo book again.
