Newtown East Reviews

Philip
Ideal accommodation, very well situated for my weeks fishing trip to Clare . Very spacious cottage set in own grounds with lovely views across the estuary and plenty of parking and nice outside seating area . Set midway between Killkee and Killrush was only 15 minutes from plenty of shops and food outlets from Oyster bars to Chip shops and restaurants. Met up with Mary, the owner on final day who was really friendly .Will definitely be looking to go back when planning my next trip to Clare.
We had a fantastic week in the cottage with our young family. It was very spacious both inside and out. It had everything we could possibly need. The location was beautiful also and served as a perfect base for us to explore many of the attractions County Clare has to offer. It is rural and quiet. It was perfect for us to sit out and enjoy the weather in the evenings but also only a short drive from Kilkee in one direction which has so much to offer. And also Kilrush in the other direction which also has lots of amenities, including a Tesco superstore. Our host Mary greeted us upon arrival and made us feel very welcome, ensuring that we had everything we needed for our stay. We would strongly recommend it.

We had the most wonderful stay at this holiday cottage by far the best we experienced during our time in Clare. Set in a beautifully picturesque rural location, it's just a short walk to Querin Pier, which was perfect for peaceful strolls and sea views. The cottage itself was immaculately clean, tastefully decorated, and fully equipped with everything needed to feel at home. Marys hospitality was truly exceptional warm, welcoming, and thoughtful. It was a real pleasure to meet her. She kindly let our children spend time with her lovely dogs, and the cat often visited us too, which the kids absolutely adored. When the area experienced a major water leak two days in a row, Mary thoughtfully brought us a delicious box of chocolates and two bottles of water such a kind and generous gesture. The kitchen had everything we needed, and thanks to the sunny weather and the outdoor drying stand, we didnt even miss having a tumble dryer. The internet connection in the living room was excellent, and the shower pressure was great as well. We truly want to thank Mary for offering such a wonderful place to stay it made our week in Clare unforgettable.

Nice host and great accomodation with a top view. Best for 4 persons, but 1 or 2 more should also be no Problem. You can do lots of activities from here jogging, cycling, daily trips to the cliffs, Galway, Limerick, Bunratty, ....

The designe of the cottage provides a very comfortable accommodations for at least 2 families. It is well furnished and tastefully decorated. Most of all it is well located in and idyllic Irish countryside away from traffic and stresses of a modern city life.
Bridget
Beautiful house, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Great location for touring the area. Quiet and peaceful setting. The host is very welcoming, helpful and answered any queries really quickly. Provided local tourist map and pointed out places we might like to visit as well as info on local restaurants. Would definitely book again if staying in the area.

Mary was a very helpful hostess. Cottage was an excellent and quiet base for our holiday in the area, situated on a hill with superb views overlooking the water in the distance. Facilities excellent and cottage extremely comfortable. Conveniently situated for Kilkee, Kilrush and the Shannon Ferry, which we utilised several times to gain access to Kerry.
A very enjoyable stay in a characterful cottage in lovely surroundings. Very welcoming and helpful hosts, conveniently living next door.
The house was lovely. In a beautiful part of the country, very spacious and clean. We had a lovely time there.
Beautiful home & lovely host and beautiful weather a real bonus

It is perfect a stunning view, a marvellous house and a so nice host! The location is very good, between Kilrush and Kilkee we have appreciate a lot the O'Maras Pub at Kilkee!. The house is very nice, bedrooms are beautiful and beds are very good, the kitchen has a view... you will enjoy to wash the dishes! And Mary, our host, is too nice we found in the house enough to make the first breakfast and she brought us eggs of her farm! We surely will return in this house, and probably for a week.
Eileen
The cottage was lovingly restored with many original features retained or restored. It was decorated very tastefully and there were lots of nice serving dishes and glasses so we entertained friends one evening. There was a lovely relaxing drawing room with an open fire and the host provided fuel for same. This cottage is great for children as a field out front but without road access to play games and bug hunt! A concrete yard in the back ideal for scooting. The hens and cows also provided more entertainment! As it rained a few days while we were there we were very lucky to have such a nice space to play board gamescards and prepare meals. The hosts were wonderful checked into make sure we had everything we needed, recommended places for swimming and dinner out. They also dropped over homemade brown bread and lemon drizzle cake straight from the oven which was a delight! I would highly recommend this cottage if you want somewhere very peaceful in nature yet only an 8 min drive from hustle and bustle of Kilkee and Kilrush. We will definitely revisit.
Lovely location with a nice home from home feeling. Plus the Wild Atlantic Way that never fails to impress just down the road. Hope to return in the summer.
