We had such a lovely week in Wales and really enjoyed our stay. From the moment we arrived, Colin next door was fantastic. He was so friendly and helpful, showing us around the cottage and giving us some great tips on places to visit and eat. It was also lovely and reassuring knowing Colin was just next door if we needed anything, although thankfully we didnt need to call on him! The cottage was lovely, spotlessly clean when we arrived and had such a warm, homely feel to it. The beds were really comfortable, and Sarah had thought of everything, from the little toiletries provided to all the useful essentials like salt and pepper. The Welsh cakes waiting for us on arrival were a lovely touch too and a great welcome to Wales! We explored lots of different places during our stay and, as this was our first time visiting Wales, we absolutely loved it. Weve had a wonderful week and will definitely be coming back. A lovely cottage, very clean, lovely location, our personal experience found that we had to borrow a dust pan and brush from a neighbour because no matter how careful you are you will get crumbs around the dining table and no brush provided in the cottage, again on a personal level the door catches upstairs are impossible to operate quietly hence you cant use the bathroom during the night without disturbing others.

We had a lovely holiday, the cottage was perfect, the beds were super comfortable. The only thing was the parking but Colin who lived next door was super helpful and we managed to park every day so I wouldn't let it put you off this cottage. Lovely outside area. Three pubs very close but they are more like drinking pubs rather eating, everyone super friendly. Fantastic chip shop and Chinese takeaway 2 minutes away. We went ti the goat hotel but we wernt impressed with the food, might have caught it on a bad night. Lovely pubs etc in welshpool. We booked here because of the close proximity of the llanfair light railway, also had to visit Talyllyn railway can recommend, our grandson loves steam trains.lovely area for walks Can really recommend you won't be dissapointed

Lovely cottage in quiet but convenient village location with everything we needed. Helpful owner and helpful and welcoming neighbour. Excellent base for our holiday. We had no issues with parking.

This was not a typical cottage holiday as for 3 days we spent a large part of the day indoors due to the heatwave. We had early morning walks to the local Deri Woods and then returned to the comfortable cottage. We were lucky that the cottage was so comfortable and that we had been provided with 2 fans. Lllanfair Caerenion was certainly a friendly village to stay in and makes a good base with lots of interesting places to visit not too far away. The only thing that disappointed was that the cottage description gave car parking. This was not outside the cottage and was not always available, so the public car park had to be used at times.

Such a beautiful cottage, totally transformed to a very high standard. We were so comfortable throughout the whole of our stay. We loved the log burner and put it on every evening after a day of exploring mid wales. The kitchen is very well kitted out. The beds are super comfy and the shower is delightful. The cottage was pristine on arrival and the friendly welcome from Colin, the next door neighbour, was an added bonus. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Tan Y Ddol is a lovely cottage, in a nice private setting. The refurbishment and combining of the two cottages into one property has been very well done, and to a very high standard. The seating area outside is nice.

We had a lovely, comfortable and peaceful stay here. The cottage had everything we needed, it was well equipped, clean and was in a great location in the town literally a stone's throw from the pubs. The log fire was a welcome feature that made our stay even more cosy.

Lovely stay at Tan Y Ddol, the cottage has been renovated to a high standard. Kitchen was great and a really good specification, beds were really comfortable, great quality mattress and pillows. Oh and cant forget the nice thick fluffy towels! Nice touches within the cottage and quiet location. Facilities within the village were good with a few pubs, couple shops and takeaways. Sarah the host was great at communication. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage was beautiful with all the amenities you need. The host was very welcoming and provided lots of information on places to visit. It is set in a lovely village with 3 pubs that provide good meals. Also, fish and chips and Chinese take away. Beautiful area with lots to see! Highly recommend!

Amazing property so well loved and restored. Well equipped and so clean.

A lovely cottage in a great area perfect as a base to the coast, country and sights.

Second time if staying and absolutely amazing again even to the point of acting on the smallest feedback left last year. A,very stylish and well decorated house that gives an amazing sense of peace and calm as soon as you walk through the door. Nothing has been done on the cheap and it really shows through. Hugely comfortable beds, excellent shower, an open fire that was my absolute element, a kitchen with everything you need etc etc. Neighbours are super helpful and friendly. Parking can be a bit tight but didn't affect us there is parking up a very close side street if needed. A new takeaway has opened at the bottom of the street that is worth trying but is cash only. There are no cashpoints in the village but you van get cash from post office until 8pm. Managed to leave the modern world behind for a week read four books that would normally take me a month. Internet is good even if I told some people I had no signal so I didn't have to deal with life.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming cottage. It has been refurbished very tastefully and has a strong sense of place. Items of antique furniture stand side by side with modern ones and a lot of thought has clearly gone into the decor. All appliances and finishes are of high quality and exceed expectations of a holiday let. The woodburner was wonderful!

Tan Y Ddol is a lovely cottage warm, spacious, and comfortable. It is conveniently placed for access to the surrounding area and the village is beautiful, although it was never designed for the volume of modern day traffic. Colin was very welcoming, friendly and helpful, explaining the layout of the house, and his assistance was appreciated. This is a recommended base for a holiday in Northeast Wales.

Absolutely fabulous from the communication before , the very helpful neighbours and through to the layout and design of the cottage. Everything extremely well thought out. The smallest moan would be we couldn't find any brushes or bin bags to leave the property as clean as possible. Highly recommended

We had a lovely week at the cottage, everything was as described and better if anything. We loved having a fire every night which made the cottage really cosy as well as having the benefit of underfloor heating. The beds were really comfy and we all slept well. The location of the cottage was great too with lots of nice walks near by and a few small local shops.

Lovely village with 3 very close pubs! Fantastic cottage restoration with all mod cons. Mattresses were very comfortable, shower was fantastic and neighbours were very helpful. The only areas for improvement would be instructions for the complicated induction hop and more comfortable sofas. All in all a wonderful few days break.

Beautiful cottage, recently modernised, with some remaining existing features, open plan, with french doors to enclosed back garden .

I thought the cottage was beautiful. The owner has clearly taken a great deal of time and trouble to create a warm and relaxing space. The property was spotlessly clean on arrival and I left it spotlessly clean on departure!. My one comment would be that if there were more than two cars one might struggle with parking near to the property although I do know there is parking in a public car park nearby.

Tanyddol is a beautifully renovated and spotlessly clean cottage. Everything is of a really high standard, including the kitchen appliances, crockery and bedding and more besides. We had a great week's holiday there, doing the local alpaca trek, visiting the nearby town and castle of Montgomery, and travelling further afield to Bala where we got the steam train, the beach at Barmouth, and back into England to Shrewsbury. The welcome treats were also very much appreciated. Thank you, Sarah, for making it such a lovely place to have a holiday.

Fantastic family cottage, all needs catered for and the attention to detail was spot on. Very quiet location if that's what your after but I'd recommend a local search of the area if your after something more active.

An immaculate cottage with all modern comforts. An ideal cottage for some R&R. Sarah, the host even went the extra decorating the place with a Christmas tree and provided little treats.

Beautiful cottage where every need is catered for. The owner really has thought of everything. Not a great deal to do in the village but plenty of lovely walks and other places nearby. And the neighbours are lovely too! We will definitely book again and highly recommend this place if youre looking for somewhere in this region.

Very comfortable cottage. Very welcoming, warm and clean. When you first opened the door you felt vey much at home and knew you had made a good choice.

We were so impressed with this delightful cottage which is set in a very quiet location yet right at the heart of the little town of Llanfair Caereinion. We were greeted with a lovely array of local specialities and very quickly settled into this beautiful and clearly recently renovated cottage. The decor is most attractive in muted creams which complement the fantastic kitchen and dining area with a stunning glass dining table!. The downstairs is open plan whilst upstairs there are 3 beautifully appointed bedrooms with very comfy beds. It was good to have a really nice powerful shower with plenty of hot water in the shower room too. The house was extremely well appointed and very clean. I read among the welcome information that it has been in the owner's family for 150 years and has just been renovated this year. It certainly has a very fresh and modern yet traditional feel to it. The owner had included some nice touches like hanging original watercolours on the walls which a member of her family had painted which I thought was a very nice personal touch. We soon made ourselves at home lighting the doublesided woodburner which made the sitting areas very cosy indeed. We did not use it, as it wasn't the right time of year, but there was a lovely terraced yard at the back which looked likely to be a real suntrap! We enjoyed getting to know the town and also to do some walking the beautiful Montgomeryshire countryside. We did some walks along the Glyndwr Way and also a section of the Severn Way which went along the Montgomery Canal right under stunning Powis Castle. On our first night we ate out in one of the local pubs which was really nice it was clearly frequented by the locals and everyone was very friendly. We also purchased some fantastic prepared dishes from the local butcher I have brought quite a few to bring home too! Unfortunately the Welshpool and Llanfair Railway wasn't functioning this weekend but the line looks very pretty and I saw they were doing Santa specials which I am sure younger children would love. I will definitely be revisiting the area and will be coming back to Tan y ddol.
