The Old Cart House Stokesay Reviews

Stuart
Great stay in this beautifully renovated cottage. Had everything we needed and was in a great location for visiting the sights of Shropshire, Herefordshire & Wales. Good train and bus links from Craven Arms between Ludlow and Shrewsbury to save driving. Welcome gifts a lovely thought , thankyou.
Jean
The cottage was exceptionally well organised and had everything we needed. There were facilities in Craven Arms and it was a great location for touring the surrounding areas. We would certainly come back
Stan
The cottage is easily adequate for two people, ceverly and tastefully converted from an old cart house. We found it very comfortable, the bed was maybe a little on the firm side, but that's a matter of personal preference. The location is quiet and convenient - on the edge of Craven Arms close to the Onny Meadows and Shropshire Hills Centre, less than a mile on foot to Stokesay Castle and under half a mile to the town centre and excellent Tuffins supermarket. Craven Arms is on the A49 and an ideal base for exploring south Shropshire and northern Herefordshire. Would definitely recommend, and stay again if wanting a base in the same area.
Yvonne
A good place to stay, everything needed for a pleasant stay. Craven Arms was a 5 minute walk away. The Cart House is in a central location, with many places to visit close by, including the discovery centre just a walk around the corner. There was plenty of information on walks from the centre.
Karl
A lovely warm, clean and well equipped place to stay. We loved the pictures on the wall which show the 'then and now' of the development. The coffee machine was appreciated as were the little gifts and welcome card, we LOVED the biscuits! A great place for a couple who want some R&R , some bird watching and some stunning scenery.
Sean
Very well laid out property, everything that we needed was there.
Michael
Cottage was in excellent condition and in a good location. Whilst Crsven Arms is not a pretty village it has the benefit of a large and well stocked family owned supermarket. There are country walks available from the front door of the Carthouse and plenty of places to visit within a reasonable distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
Richard
Gem of a property. Tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Ideally suited for countryside walks and good transport links.
Julia
Fabulous short stay at the Cart House, ideal location for walking from the front door. Well thought out conversion, warm and cosy, with everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely return.
Ian
This was a great place to stay. The location was lovely especially for walking and as a base for travelling too. The design of the property and the decor was spot on too. We had a lovely break. Thank you to the owner.
Ann
Lovely cottage; very peaceful and great location for local walks, trips into Ludlow etc. Very comfortable, and nice and warm. Had everything we needed. Local shops and takeaways all within 5 minutes walk. Would recommend.
Philip
Very clean, well equipped property, ideal for a couple. Close to excellent walking choices, as well as Ludlow for great restaurants
Michael
Well presented and equipped property in lovely countryside.
Elizabeth
The cottage has been beautifully renovated, with beautiful decor, to create a very stylish, cosy & comfortable haven. The welcome pack & kitchen supplies were much appreciated & the instructions were clear without being overwhelming. A great location to access lots of places with relative ease. How lovely to be able to enjoy an easy stroll to The Shropshire Hills Centre & spectacular Stokesay Castle, just by stepping out of The Carthouse. For those of you who appreciate a few car free days, there are both buses and trains readily available too for trips to Ludlow, Church Stretton, Hereford & Shrewsbury. There are lots of beautiful walks to be enjoyed as well as some great pubs such as The Ragleth Inn, Little Stretton, where we had a splendid Sunday Lunch. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend The Carthouse for a lovely getaway.
